Work Text:
You and Casper often took strolls in the forest, away from the bustling life of the city (and the prying eyes of Death). There was also the fact that you would stumble upon beautiful scenes of nature that had you snapping multiple pictures to use as a reference later (as you were a freelancer artist).
Today, the two of you had stumbled upon a waterfall, and with how there was a rainbow reflected in the middle of it, you had to take a picture. After get a few different angles, you just stop and stood. Simply admiring the beauty of it all.

Casper immediately dropped his arms, half-truth on the tip of his tongue, but your interrogation never came.
You didn’t even turn around. “It’s pretty, right?”
He nodded, eyes not on the surrounding beauty, but that which was in front of him. “Yeah…” you are.
The strolls were not limited to the light of day. No, the two of you would also venture out if you found yourselves restless. The sound of the night soothed your anxieties of what lingered in the city, whether that be your mundane daily life or that of which lurked in the shadows. His skin always glowed, and if you looked close enough—squinted— you could see light freckles mimicking stars.
You didn’t realize it, but your hand had made its way into your pocket, fishing out your phone. You supposed it was second nature to admire and record beauty, so just that.

You didn’t lower your phone, simply waited for your next shot to present itself.
He turned toward you, a smile gracing his features. “I guess we’re even, Sunshine.”
You returned the sentiment. “I guess we are, Grimmy.”
