She gazed at the water with awe, the waves distracting her from anything that she had been previously thinking before. The heat of the sun was a bit of a nuisance, but it was nothing new.
Leafy let her smile widen, the sight in front of her eyes so gorgeous, as if it came straight from a movie.
A shadow had blocked her view, causing her to look up at the person.
"Pin, you're blocking my view," She sighed.
Pin narrowed her eyes, before opening her mouth to speak.
"I know. I took you to the beach to have some fun — not to stare at the water all day." Her tone was sharp, but she didnt mean any harm.
Leafy wasn't as hooked in to the idea as Pin was – she saw the beach as a more calming enviroment than one full of chaos.
Don't get me wrong – she enjoys some of the activities, like building sandcastles, but even that's one of the tamest of all beach activites.
"Cmon," Pin began, "- the weather is great! We can at least go swimming."
The green-haired girl would sigh, lifting herself up and following behind Pin.
There was the occasional glance at her back, as the sun hit the perfect spots. She looked nice in her swimsuit, the black being a nice colour.
Pin was fairly strong, if I'm honest. Her arms were jacked, and damn, she was fast. Knight in shining armour, anyone?
She'd jump into the water, the water making a large splash after her. It had soaked Leafy, making her cough out and dry her face off with a hand.
"I'm not jumping into the water." Leafy responded blankly.
"Oh, yes, you are!" Pin grabbed them by the front of their swimsuit, yanking Leafy into the water.
Leafy had gasped, bringing her head back up from underwater to the surface, shaking her head and blinking. Her green hair was damp, covering her eyes and also draped over her shoulders.
Pin began to laugh at her, but was then shoved underwater by Leafy as an act of revenge. Two can play at that game.
The two were at war.
Splashing war, of course. Getting each other soaked in any, and every way possible to exist. It was like the sun was nonexistent, and the water was the only thing at the beach right now.
"Watch where you splash!" Leafy squealed, pushing water over into Pin's face, making her cough out.
"Ah, screw you!" She'd laugh, soaking her back in return.
Adorable.
Staring was occasional – the pair would stare at each other for a bit longer than intended, but brush it off and go back to their antics. By the time they got out of the ocean, they were dripping with water, and also freezing cold.
It didnt take long for them to warm up, as they sat in a towel together, munching on some icecream.
Pin had mint chocolate chip with a flake, while Leafy had chose classic vanilla with sprinkles. As it began to melt in her hands, Pin reached a hand down, wiping a bit off of her chin.
"Oh, uh.. thanks." Leafy glanced away, a pink tint to her cheeks.
"You should've taken a napkin." Her eyebrows furrowed in mock-disapproval, before breaking into a small amount of laughter.
Together, they sat – enjoying the waves like Leafy once was before. But now, she had the comfort of Pin.
The sun began to fall over the ocean, the stars peeking out from the sky slightly, the sky being a beautiful array of warm colours, so pleasing to the eye.
What a day. A fun one, to be honest.
