Chapter Text
Yuji watched the approaching lights with a melancholic smile as the plane neared its descent. Don’t get him wrong, he was glad to be heading back to Tokyo after all these years, but he hadn’t seen his friends in person since he’d been shipped off to Africa. Sure, they had spotty phone calls when they could, but the world of a Jujutsu Sorcerer was a busy one.
The daily calls had dropped to weekly, which had dropped to monthly, and so forth. Which had been the very thing Yuji had been afraid of when he’d been told he’d be going to Africa to help him control Sukuna. Truth be told Yuji had never had many friends and Fushiguro and Kugisaki had been shaping up to be some pretty cool ones. At least if things didn’t work out, he knew Sade had his back.
When he’d gotten to Africa, he was hoping he would hang out and become friends with Okkotsu. Maki-San and Inumaki had both said he was a special grade sorcerer so cool. Unfortunately, Yuta was always either too busy or too tired to hang out, constantly being sent out on missions. They’d hung out whenever possible, but Yuji had prepared himself for a life of loneliness for the next couple of years, nothing he hadn’t dealt with before.
That was until Sade had shown up. Sade was a Jujutsu Sorcerer in training, she came from a non-shaman family and had been thrust into the jujutsu world feet first. They’d gotten along like a house on fire.
Yuji smiled softly looking at his phone background, a rare occasion where they’d gotten the day off, and attended a concert. He had Sade propped on his shoulders, as they both smiled for the camera. Two seconds later he’d lost his balance, and they’d ate shit.
‘Brat,’ Sukuna called out.
‘Hey Sukuna, what’s up?’ Yuji answered inwardly.
‘Quit it with the reminiscing, it’s giving me a stomachache.’
‘Sorry’
Sukuna was quiet for a second before he continued, ‘I don't know why you're so worried, those Tokyo sorcerers were obsessed with you, probably still are.’
Yuji let out a little smile, that was probably as much comfort he was going to get from the curse.
‘Although they left a lot to be desired Sade was better.’
And there it was, thought it was to be expected considering Sukuna had been in his body during the whole time he and Sade were a thing. Thankfully Sade had been understanding of the whole thing even if Sukuna had let his presence known a few times.
He’d fallen hard for the girl. It’d helped that she’d been his exact type on paper, tall with a nice behind. The pretty brown eyes, plush lips, and cute smile didn’t hurt either. Unfortunately, they were too different at their cores, Yuji wanted to save everyone, and Sade would sooner let the world burn, than save those she didn’t care about. Which was probably why Sukuna had liked her so much…
Speaking of Sukuna, although Yuji would never admit he had grown fond of the curse. As the years went on Sukuna had somewhat mellowed out. Ok not really, but Yuji had gotten through to him. He’d brought up a good point about if Sukuna destroyed the world, he’d end up bored. After all what was there left to do once you had everything, and hadn’t Sukuna had everything before? That had given Sukuna pause and Yuji had quickly pointed out that he could still do whatever he wanted with the world, within reason. He’d even brought up all the evil billionaires who got away with doing everything and anything they wanted just by being rich.
They’d come to an agreement; Sukuna wouldn’t try and destroy everything and anyone in his path. and Yuji would let him out for a couple hours a day, of course anything that effected Yuji’s body like sex or tattoos or drugs was out of the question, unless Yuji agreed to it. And Sukuna had permission to take over when they were fighting curses if Yuji hadn’t defeated it in the first hour.
‘Just landed,’ Yuji sent off, as he stood up and headed towards the baggage area.
‘Don’t forget our weekly calls or I will fly over and fight you.’
‘Would never.’
Yuji let out a chuckle shoving his phone in his pocket, as he looked around the baggage claim. Gojo had said he wouldn’t be able to pick him up but that someone would. Yuji had assumed it would be Ijichi but he couldn’t see the man anywhere. Maybe Gojo had forgotten or was playing a practical joke on him.
His eyes roved the airport again before landing on familiar blonde hair and he felt his face split into a wide grin,
“Nanamin!” Yuji shouted, making his way over and throwing his arms around the man in a tight hug.
Nanamin had done his upmost best to keep in touch with him and Yuji had appreciated every second of it. A pair of hands wrapped around him as well, a slight rumbling in the chest Yuji was pressed to as Nanamin let out a small chuckle.
“Good to see you haven’t changed a bit.”
Yuji pulled back grinning up for him, as Nanamin blinked once then twice, before taking off his glasses to stare at him, eyes roving across his face.
“Hmm on second thought perhaps I spoke too soon.” Nanamin muttered.
“What’s that Nanamin?”
“Nothing, nothing, you’ve grown up.” Nanamin said, ruffling his hair. He put on his glasses mumbling to himself, “I’ll be beating them off with a stick.”
Yuji let out shrug tuning out his mumbles, as he surged forward to wrap Nanamin in another hug. He’d never be too grown up for hugs from Nanamin.
Much to Yuji’s disappointment, by the time he got Jujutsu Tech all the other sorcerers were out on a mission, and he wasn’t even able to see anyone, even Gojo was out on an assignment. Yuji huffed heading to his old bedroom, maybe he should’ve taken Nanamin up on his offer to stay at his house for the night. He finished up in the bathroom pausing in the mirror, what did Nanamin mean by different?
He looked the same as he always did, sure his hair was a bit longer and a bit wavier, he hadn’t realized his hair was slightly curly till he started growing it out, his cheeks were more defined as he'd lost the baby fat, he’d gotten taller and a bit more muscular maybe but other than that he looked pretty much the same as he always did. Shrugging it off Yuji got into bed, it wasn’t a big deal anyway.
He got into bed pulling out his phone to text Sade. It was currently 4pm in Africa but 12am in Japan, and unfortunately for Yuji he was wide awake. Getting used to the time change was going to be hell. He snickered at the cat meme Sade sent, responding with his own. The two of them stayed up texting until the wee hours of the morning and the late hours of the night for her.
Yuji woke up the next morning, regretting life. Maybe staying up all night sending funny memes to Sade hadn’t been the brightest decision. He made his way through his morning routine eyes still half closed with sleep and stumbled his way towards the common room.
He walked into arms thrown over his head as he yawned and opened his eyes to see the Second Years, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki staring at him. All reminiscences of sleep left his body as a huge grin split across his face.
“Guys!” He shouted, he ran toward them wrapping Fushiguro and Kugisaki in a tight hug, “I didn’t know you’d all be back so early!”
He let go of the two of them before turning to the Second Years, giving each one a quick hug as well, before he turned back to Kugisaki and Fushiguro wrapping them in another hug.
“I missed you guys!" Yuji paused, "Where’s Gojo-Sensei?”
Fushiguro let out a cough, face bright red and Yuji turned to him with concern, moving closer and placing a hand on his forehead.
“Are you getting sick?” Yuji pouted. “We can’t hang out and catch up if you’re sick.”
He turned to Kugisaki only to find her staring at him, face just as red. Yuji pulled away from Fushiguro, sliding in close to Kugisaki to scan her face.
“You’re just as red as Fushiguro!” He shouted; he looked around the room all the Second Years except Panda also had tinges of red on their cheeks.
“Haven’t you ever heard of personal space!” Kugisaki screeched, placing her hands on his chest with the intent to push only to freeze, hands twitching.
“So are you two!” Yuji ignored her, moving over to Inumaki and Maki-San, “Is everyone coming down with something?”
‘I can think of something they want you to go down on.’ Sukuna laughed, opening an eye.
“Huh, Sukuna-”
“Tuna.” Inumaki whispered, fanning at himself.
“What’s this I hear about my wonderful students being sick?”
Yuji perked up, turning around and threw himself at Gojo a laugh in his voice.
“Gojo-Sensei!”
“Yuji-Kun.” Gojo laughed, he spun Yuji around before setting him down on floor, holding him out by arm’s length.
“Gojo?”
“You’ve grown.” He responded, his eyes were still covered by his blindfold but Yuji got the distinct feeling he was being thoroughly examined by Gojo.
“I guess I’m a little taller, but Fushiguro is still taller than me!” Yuji said, he removed himself from Gojo’s arms, pressing himself up chest to chest with Fushiguro and moving an arm back and forth, “See.”
Gojo smirked, eyeing the two of them. “Oh, I see alright, say what were you saying about everybody being sick again?”
“Oh yeah, everyone’s getting sick Sensei, look! All their cheeks are red and Fushiguro’s burning up.”
Gojo grinned, grabbing at Yuji, and pulling him into a backwards hug, resting his chin on his shoulder, “Ah Yuji-Kun I have truly missed you. So sweet and innocent.”
‘He has two seconds before I cut off his arms.’ Sukuna hissed.
‘It’s just a hug stop being so dramatic.’
‘Just a hug -’
“Hey, stop being a weirdo!” Kugisaki shouted out, “Keep your hands to yourself.”
“Ah what’s the matter Kugisaki jealous?”
‘On second thought, if he continues to amuse me, I’ll let this instance slide.’
‘Sukuna what are you talking about?’
“Salmon.” Inumaki huffed.
“Toge’s right you just want to cop another feel.” Maki said.
“As if!” Kugisaki blushed, “I just want Gojo to stop being a creepy old man.”
“I’m not old! Besides Yuji doesn’t mind. Do you?”
“Not really, it has been a long time since I’ve seen Gojo-Sensei after all.”
“See.” Gojo stuck his tongue out, wrapping his arms around Yuji’s waist.
Fushiguro glared at him, “Let him go.”
“Make me.” He sneered, before a nasty smirk spread across his face, “Hey Yuji, do you think you could bench press Fushiguro?”
Yuji tilted his head, “Probably, I bench press like three hundred pounds or so and Fushiguro is kind of on the light side, probably easy to throw around and stuff no offense.”
Fushiguro let out a strangled cough, hiding his inflamed face in his jacket, muttering to himself, Yuji could just barely make out the word treasure. Panda was patting him solemnly on the back.
“Hey, Yuji-Kun think you could do pushups with me sitting on your back?” Gojo asked.
“Sure, but why?”
Kugisaki huffed, shoving Gogo away from as she moved forward, “Stop humoring him!”
“What?” Yuji scratched his head, “Kugisaki do you want to sit on my back while I do pushups too?”
‘Something tells me she rather sit somewhere else.’ Sukuna cackled, mouth appearing on his cheek.
“Huh Sukuna that doesn’t make sense, I mean I guess she could sit on my shoulder blades, I’m not sure how that would work?”
Kugisaki let out a squeak slamming her face into her hands, as she curled into a ball, Gojo letting out a hysterical laugh, slapping at his knees.
Maki took a deep breath “Yuji-“
Sukuna cut her off, ‘Hey Zenin girl, think about it someone who you couldn't crush with your thighs, a match for your strength!’
“Ignore him!” Yuji slapped his cheek, “But Maki-San if you want to spar, I'd be up for it. Though I doubt I'm a match, you could probably still crush me with your thighs in a hold." He finished tapping his cheek. He'd seen Maki use that move multiple times before.
Maki choked, covering her mouth with her hand.
“Mustard Leaf.”
“I don’t think it’s on purpose.” Panda said solemnly.
Gojo took the opportunity to pull Yuji towards him again, laughing at the scowls sent his way. “Have I ever told you you’re my favorite?”
Whatever Yuji was going to say next was cut off as Nanami walked in, raising an eyebrow as he took in the scene.
“Morning Nanamin.” Yuji said waving.
Nanami frowned, eyes darting across the room, taking in the way Fushiguro, Kugisaki, and Maki were covering their bright red faces in embarrassment, the way Inumaki was doing his best and absolutely failing at not staring at his sons Yuji’s half naked body. Gojo was standing entirely too close to him for his liking with an amused look on his face.
Ignoring everyone, Namami walked over, staring Yuji down.
“Yuji come with me.”
“Ah, ok!” He turned to everyone else in the room, “Well catch up later, hopefully you all start to feel better.”
“Feel better, are they sick?” Nanami asked.
Briefly he heard Gojo yell out lovesick and inwardly signed.
“I don’t know but their faces were all red.”
Nanami took off his glasses, “Where are your clothes?”
Yuji looked down, blinking in realization, “Oh, well I sleep in my boxers, and in Africa it was just me Yuta and Sade at the school. Yuta was never around, and Sade didn’t really care or mind.” He trailed off face blushing lightly.
Nanami let out a small smile, Yuji had grown up quite a bit it seemed.
“So Nanami what did you need me for?”
Truth be told, Nanami hadn’t thought much besides get his son Yuji away from his horny classmates and creepy teacher.
“Let’s go get something to eat, and we can each up. You can even tell me more about this Sade girl.”
“Oh, that sounds great Nanami, let’s go!”
“Ah Yuji aren’t you forgetting something.”
Yuji paused staring at him, and Nanami pointed to his lack of attire.
“Oh right, can’t go walking around like this, wouldn’t want to offend anybody.”
'Offend isn’t the word I’d use brat.'
“Sukuna that doesn’t even make sense.”
Nanami watched him go with a fond smile, that boy would be the death of him.
