The Devil sighed, bored. He needed more anxiety inducing material, but he was all out of it.
Well. He definitely knew where to go by now.
He got up from his chair and walked out, past the screaming souls, begging for the torture to stop. He walked right into Jimothy's office.
"Hello Jim-"
The temperature in the room dropped, with Jimothy looking at the Devil as if he'd snapped.
"-OTHY, Jimothy, hello!" He finished nervously. How this mere mortal could scare him, he'd never know and yet already did at the same time.
Jimothy smiled, warm and friendly.
"Hey there, boss! How are you?"
The Devil smiled at him. "Good, I'm good, how are you?"
"I'm okay!"
"Nice, nice, now, do you have any ideas about making people anxious?"
"Oh," Jimothy frowned, "I'd never intentionally make somebody anxious-"
The Devil said the magic word.
"Hypothetically."
Jimothy took off his glasses. "I think you should ho to a college and hack into the school system."
The Devil raised an eyebrow. "What does this have to do with anything, Jim?"
"Jimothy." Jimothy said in a deep, horrible, dark voice. The Devil felt his brain stutter for a moment, his heart beginning to race.
"You send out a school wide alert, saying something has been stolen. That it looks inconsequential, but is vitally important."
"O- oh-" The Devil gasped out, barely able to think.
"You alert the staff. They have no clue what you're talking about, so they go along to keep their jobs. The students will be anxious because like the stressed 20 somethings they are, they can't remember most of what they pick up in school or class. All of them are afraid this thing might be in their room, their locker, they can't find it but what if it looks normal? The staff will be terrified as well, thinking they're going to get fired I'd they don't get this thing back, everybody is on edge nobody can focus, even the dean themself-"
The Devil had to get him to shut up, this was giving him anxiety just thinking about it, so.
He grabbed Jimothy's shirt and kissed him.
It took a second but Jimothy kissed back. And it was wonderful.
And all three worlds melted away.
