Summary
Based in the 1930s prior to the events of the Cuphead game.
A Human AU of Cuphead from my noggin initially inspired by the Casino Cups comics by Brightgoat and their characterization of Wheezy and Chips that made me grow fond of the two and their dynamic.
I never see fics focusing on these two developing their relationship and rather just jump straight into them already together, so I decided to scratch that itch in my brain and write my own headcannoned fic of these two. Focusing on how they met, the slow burn of them eventually becoming friends and then slowly into that developing into a relationship.
Always imagined Wheezy as this guy who’s constantly seen as just this asshole who’s unapproachable and undesirable but really he just doesn’t trust people much and prefers being alone. Chips I imagined being a polar opposite to that, extremely talkative and a people person.
This fic will dive into topics revolving around addiction, mental health issues, and just angst overall cause I love angsty stories.
This is my first time writing a fic for this site so I hope whoever ends up reading this enjoys what my brain conjures up about these two.

Luckily for them, a cartoon cat just so happens to run into them. On a quest for his own brother, the cups decide to help aid the kitten for his cause. Unbeknownst to them, this little kitty has some secrets of their own that they'd rather not say.

Cuphead and Mugman go on an adventure away from Inkwell Isles to a faraway land called "the silverware shores" to help save their newfound friend's brother. And maybe Cuphead would even go on a little side adventure of his own(inside his head straight into the heart!).

Note from author: This is a revised arc of "Gwen and the Magic Inkwell" with some original chapters and brand new ones coming in the future.
Everyone, after much thinking and going through a Fanfiction "Scope Creep", I've decided to back to writing Gwen stories from the old days when Gwen was living with Cuphead and Mugman and Elder Kettle when she was 18 and human. I'm rewriting the "Gwen and the Magic Inkwell" arc now called "Gwen and the Magic Inkwell Reimagined" with the old stories with brand-new adventures with the bosses that haven't been featured in "The Cuphead Show!" and still follow the storyline from the 3 seasons.
Gwen is an 18-year old girl from Boston, Massachusetts who dreams to be free from her parent's restriction during the Great Depression and choose her own path. After picking up a magical artifact she found that gives her incredible powers, she is kidnapped by the Devil and brought to the Inkwell Isles to be his wife. After escaping Inkwell Hell, she befriends two cup brothers, she is taken in by their caretaker Elder Kettle and the cups bring her on their adventures and making new friends and enemies along the way.

After the fight with those two little brats, the Devil rebuilds the casino using his powers. That sets him back a bit, but not enough to displace him, despite the many souls he's lost, (21, plus the boys), he still has the many, many souls in Hell. Along with his right-hand-man & devotee, King Dice. King Dice, now with his reputation with the humans and mortals on the isles now ruined, he stays at the casino instead of performing anywhere else and glazing in his past fame. Still, people being people screw with him at every chance they get. King Dice & the employees relationships are screwed from the fight with those cups. And King Dice is left still feeling betrayed with what his boss words were with them. "Good for nothin".. Damn him. Still, to a deity, those words mean nothing compared to actions, they were just words throw out of anger. To a mortal, a human, their distilling and heartbreaking. Did any of my actions mean anything to you? King Dice and the Devil, now with a wall of awkwardness and unidentified feelings between the two once close friends, are left trying to repair both themselves and their relationship, and realize their worth to each other.
