“Think about it, Sir!” The boy had said with stars in his eyes, his uniform coat and green aides sash discarded over a nearby chair as they worked late into the night, “Countless other universes, just like a mirror! Anything could be possible! I could have dark hair, you could have two heads, the possibilities are endless!”
“How about a universe where congress doesn’t give us the run around whenever we need more supplies?”
“Sir, I don’t think there's any universe where congress is competent enough to understand the war.”
“Then a universe where our losses are victories?”
“Exactly, Sir! For every battle we fight, there's a universe where the outcome is reversed! I haven’t quite finished the book yet, but where I left off, the author even began to explore the possibility of inter-dimensional travel.”
