Chapter Text

Olivia knew by the look on his face, that she had lost Rafael forever.

Of course, this wasn’t the first time she’d witnessed it but the more it happened the more she internally sighed. All she wanted was to freely kiss her husband without their overtly jealous baby killing the mood.

Olivia had woken up that Sunday morning to the other side of the bed empty, but she could hear the bustle going on in the kitchen. She got up from the bed, wrapping the sheet around herself. Gathering her clothes, she went for a shower, enjoying the soothing effect of the hot water on her sore muscles. Memories of the night before replayed in her mind as she massaged shampoo into her hair; three years married, and that man still made her weak in the knees.

The smell of coffee and breakfast made her leave their bedroom. She first came upon Noah, sitting at their dining table, eating pancakes, fork in mid-air.

“Morning mommy!”

“Morning, sweetie.” She walked over, pressing a kiss on his forehead before heading to the kitchen.

Busy putting the pan he had been using in the sink, it took a moment for Rafael to notice her presence. It was understandable, he had his hands full with their eleventh-month old daughter, who he had on his hip.

“Say morning to mami, Cami.” Rafael said, getting closer to Olivia.

All Olivia got in return was a frown.

“Come on, mija.” Rafael cajoled. “Give mami a kiss.”

“No.” The brown-haired baby shook her head, her green eyes looking at her mother with open hostility.

Rafael sighed, giving up. He glanced at Olivia apologetically before halting at seeing her attire. She had been lazy and simply put on a fresh pair of his boxers and his Harvard hoodie. A shiver of desire ran up her spine seeing Rafa take her in, and she enjoyed seeing the want brewing in his eyes when they met hers again.

“You don’t want to greet your mom? That’s fine.” Rafael told the infant. “But I do. Morning, love.”

“Morning, Rafa.”

Coming closer, Olivia placed her hand on his other hip. With his available hand he pulled her in to his other side, their lips a breath away before he pulled back, giving her a quick, devilish smirk, before planting a firm kiss on her lips.

Teasing asshole. Olivia thought, enjoying the warm press of his lips on hers- until a small smack on her cheek jolted her attention from her husband back to her daughter.

“No!”

Olivia grabbed Cami’s hand. “No hitting.”

Cami pulled her hand away, ignoring her mother’s words. “No, no, no, no.” She continued saying, shaking her head fervently.

She sighed, simply observing her unruly gremlin. Olivia honestly had no clue as to when she’d become a possessive hellion when it came to Rafa. Noah never showed any favoritism, even when Rafael had only been an uncle to him before. Whenever it been the three of them, he was comfortable with being with either of them. This little girl, on the other hand, wanted to be in her father’s arms 24/7 despite already learning how to toddle through her first steps a month ago. During the week, Olivia would simply brush it off and continue with her morning routine, but today all she wanted was to plant kisses all over her husband’s face.

Knowing she had a few precious seconds, Olivia leaned forward to kiss her husband, slipping her tongue between his lips. Rafa groaned in approval, his hand on her lower back pushing her more towards him before migrating his hand towards her waist.

“NO!”

“Yes, yes, yes.” Olivia chanted back at Cami, a smile on her lips.

Rafael nodded in agreement.

Cami looked between the two, an adorable frown etched on her face.

Rafael squeezed Olivia’s waist, before giving her a quick peck. This only served to irritate the baby even more, but this time Rafael caught her chubby hand before it could land.

“Camila Luciana Barba.” Rafael began. “Mommy said no hitting.”

Cami’s eyes shimmered with tears, and she pushed out her lower lip in sadness.

Olivia wanted to roll her eyes at her daughter’s blatant crocodile tears.

“You have to be nice to mommy and hitting people is bad.” Rafael continued, this time more sternly.

Camila let out a wail of sadness and began to cry at her father’s betrayal.

It was honestly comical, and Olivia wanted to laugh, but she coughed it away, watching her husband pat Cami’s back to soothe her.

“I can share my kisses with you mommy.” Olivia’s heart melted hearing Noah’s words and she turned to see him walking with an empty plate. “Can I get another pancake?”

“Of course, you can.” She grabbed his plate and walked over to the counter, grabbing the spatula to place one from the stack onto Noah’s plate.

Turning around to hand him back his plate, Olivia watched Noah gently tug at his little sister’s encased foot. Olivia loved the one-piece pajamas that Cami had on, one of numerous gifts from her aunt Rita.

“You can’t be mean to mommy, Cami.”

The baby gave her brother a petulant grunt before nuzzling back into her father’s neck with a watery sigh.

Catching her gaze, Rafael rolled his eyes over their daughter's head at her before patting Cami’s back again. “There, there.”

Noah went over to Olivia to grab his plate but not before beckoning her to lower her cheek to give her a kiss so that she didn’t feel left out.

“Come on.” Rafael announced, following Noah back to the dining table. “Let’s get you in your chair so that we can eat breakfast.”

Olivia grabbed the mug of coffee that Rafa prepared for her and took a few tentative sips. A smile lighting up her face, feeling Rafael’s hands on her waist pulling her firmly against him, he pressed a kiss on her neck before whispering in her ear.

“Our daughter is so dramatic.”

“I know, she gets it from you.”

Rafael released her, giving her a snarky face before rolling his eyes- proving her point. He grabbed the plate that had the stack of pancakes.

He laced one of his hands with hers before gently pulling her. “Come on, let’s eat before they get cold.”

Olivia hummed her agreement before stopping a few steps away from exiting the kitchen. “Wait.”

Rafael turned back in confusion.

Olivia wrapped her right hand around the back of neck, her fingertips nestled on the bottom of his hair. This time she gave him the scorching kiss she wanted to give him had she found him still lingering in their bed.

Rafael let out a louder groan that had her pulling back in laughter, their foreheads gently pressed together. He sent her a sheepish grin.

“The kids didn’t hear that, right?”

Olivia shrugged. “Don’t really care right now. I’m still confronting some truths right now.”

“What truths?”

“That I risk bodily injury for kissing my own husband.”

Rafael chuckled, before leading her to the dining table to join their children.
