Docking on a winter island meant getting to spend the day exploring the island in the snow. Killer and I spent most of the afternoon out and about before heading back to the ship for the evening.
After dinner I spent some time playing cards with Heat and Wire on the deck before realizing that Killer must have gone inside. I went to look for him, but passed Kid on my way inside.
“Hey, have you seen Killer?” I asked.
“Last I saw he was heading to your guys’ room,” Kid said.
I nodded before continuing on to the room Killer and I shared. When I opened the door I saw Killer laying in bed with his mask off. I joined him in bed and noticed his nose was red and he was warm to the touch.
“Baby, are you sick?” I asked as I brushed his bangs away from his eyes.
“It’s just a cold. Nothing to worry about,” he said.
“Why didn’t you say something?” I asked. “You didn’t have to go out with me today if you weren’t feeling well.”
“You were excited about getting off the ship for a while and enjoying the snow. I didn’t want to disappoint you,” he said.
“You should’ve stayed in and rested,” I said.
“I was fine,” he protested. “Besides, I can rest now.”
“Well, how about I spend the rest of the evening hanging out in bed with you?” I asked.
“That would be very nice,” he said with a slight smile.
I got under the covers and cuddled up beside him.
