Happy Reunion Hotel

Summary:

It’s been a month since the Hazbin Hotel was completely rebuilt, bigger and better than before. Suddenly, Charlie and the rest of the Hazbins are summoned to Heaven to discuss the recent extermination raid, as well as Adam’s death. But when a surprise guest arrives, how will everyone react?

Work Text:

It’s been a month since the new and improved Hazbin Hotel was completed. Charlie and the other residents were wondering when Heaven was going to complain or retaliate after Nifty killed Adam, but so far no such thing had occurred.

The residents of the hotel spent the month mourning the loss of Sir Pentious, especially Cherri Bomb who hardly had a chance to realize the serpent’s feelings for her before his untimely demise.

Charlie, however, was silently wondering, and secretly hoping, that Sir Pentious’ selfless act of sacrificing his life for the rest of the residents in hopes of stopping Adam and the exterminator angels would boost him enough to lead him to Heaven. She had voiced this hope on numerous occasions since the serpent’s passing but nobody had the heart to tell her it was impossible.

One day, Charlie’s phone rang. It was her father.

“Hey, dad. Is something wrong?” Charlie asked, as she made her way from the lobby upstairs to her and Vaggie’s room for more privacy.

“Not ‘wrong,’ per se,” Lucifer responded slowly, unsure. “More like, umm… you and the other residents of the hotel, as well as one Cherri Bomb, have been summoned to a meeting in Heaven with the Seraphim’s to discuss the Extermination raid, as well as Adam’s death.”

Charlie was silent for a few moments, trying to process this, standing in the middle of her bedroom. It had taken the Seraphim’s quite a while to bring this up, seeing as Adam has been dead for a couple months by now.

“What the fuck took them so long to make this meeting?!” Charlie finally shouted. She started pacing. When she realized she yelled at her father, she sheepishly apologized, stopping her pacing at the foot of her bed.

“I understand why you’re so upset, but this isn’t the time to be asking questions like that. The fact they want to see everyone means they might be trying to pin the blame on someone for Adam’s death, and they may pin it on everyone, especially because they don’t know who really caused it. They didn’t see Nifty stab him in the back.”

Charlie let out an exasperated sigh and nodded, pinching the bridge of her nose with her opposite hand than the one holding the phone. “Fine. When do they want us to show up?”

She received the rest of the instructions about the meeting, said good bye, and hung up the phone. She heaved out a sigh and plopped down on her bed, trying to figure out how to explain the new turn of events.

When Charlie returned downstairs, she found Vaggie, Cherri, and Alastor sitting around the lounge; Nifty running around attempting to stab cockroaches that, despite the new construction, somehow found their way into the hotel; and Husk and Angel by the bar, Husk cleaning a glass with a bar rag and Angel nursing a glass of whatever liquor the gambling demon had decided to pour him this time.

“Alright everyone!” Charlie exclaimed, getting everyone’s attention. “I just heard from my father that we have all been summoned to Heaven!” At the end, Charlie clapped, showing a little fake enthusiasm that almost never gets displayed.

“Why the fuck are we being summoned exactly?” Angel asked. “Why isn’t it just you this time, princess?”

Charlie let out a nervous little laugh. “Dad says it’s because of the last extermination raid.”

Cherri tipped her head back and sighed. “Oh great, someone’s gonna get killed because of the stab-happy maid.” She stood up and walked over to the bar, taking a seat next to Angel. “Gimme a bottle, cat boy.”

“I’m not a damn cat,” Husk replied, placing a decanter on the counter, as well as a glass.

Ignoring the glass, Cherri grabbed the bottle, removed the stopper, and tipped it back.

“So when are we being summoned, exactly?” Alastor asked, getting everyone back on track.

At that moment, a Heaven portal opened up, answering his question.

“Huh, convenient answer,” Charlie remarked, before heading into the portal, followed by everyone else.

When everyone landed, they found themselves in front of the pearly gates. Charlie and Vaggie let out a sigh when they saw St Peter again.

“Welcome to Heaven. Can I get your name? This is a rather large group today,” St Peter commented.

“Charlie Morningstar. I’ve been called by the Seraphim’s to a meeting,” Charlie replied. “We all were.”

St Peter looked through his book for a couple seconds searching for her name, before he understood the second part of her statement, and he opened the gates, performing his song and dance once again. Charlie simply let out a sigh and followed him.

Over the course of the meeting, Charlie realized there was something more behind the summons. For one thing, the only ones present were Emily and Sera. No other council members or anyone else was there. It surprised her.

“Is this how your first meeting went?” Angel whispered to Vaggie. The former exterminator angel shook her head. She was just as surprised at the lack of people as Charlie.

“Now, for the final part of this meeting,” Sera started, shocking everyone. The entire meeting, they weren’t really talking much about the extermination raid. They were simply going around in circles with the same questions asked in different ways. They had already told the whole story from start to finish at least four times.

Before anyone could ask what she meant, the doors opened, and a very familiar voice spoke up. “Am I sssupossed to go in now?”

That voice caused Charlie’s eyes to immediately tear up. Everyone else went wide-eyed. Charlie even had to lean on Vaggie for support because she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Cherri put her hand in front of her mouth to stop her sobs when she recognized the voice, and the sound of the movements coming from the other side of the doorway.

In slithered Sir Pentious. He was dressed in white and gold, which proved that he was a resident of Heaven.

“Sir… P-Pentious…” Charlie whispered in disbelief, tears dripping down her face. She had hoped that he had made it, but she obviously couldn’t know for sure.

Pentious looked at his old friends and gave a gentle smile. He waved at them all. “Hello, everyone. It’sss been awhile. Sssorry I left early-“

Before he could finish his apology, he was swarmed in a hug involving everyone. There were tears shed, nobody could believe that Charlie’s dream had come true.

“I see you like the true meaning for this meeting,” Emily said as she floated down from her seat next to Sera. “You see, the second Pentious arrived here, I recognized him from the first council meeting we had, when I saw him there in the bar. I immediately knew that your plan was real, and wanted to show you what your hotel can really do.”

“I can’t believe it’s true,” Charlie sobbed, continuing to hug Sir Pentious, even after the others had all let go. “It makes me so happy to know.”

It took several moments to pry Charlie off of the serpent, before Cherri replaced the princess of Hell and nearly squeezed the immortality out of Pentious.

“I can see you again,” Cherri cried, though she’d never admit it. She then pushed away from him and pointed a sharp fingernail/claw into the serpent’s chest. “You are such a fucking bitch! How could you kiss me and die like that without even giving me a chance to respond, you asshole!”

“I’m sssorry?” Sir Pentious responded questioningly. He didn’t know how else to respond.

“You better be, you asshat!” The second she finished speaking, Cherri kissed him. It was not soft, or sweet. It was rough, sharp teeth and tongues involved. She had a tight grip on his hood as she forced his head this way and that. He held her just as tightly, allowing her to dominate the kiss.

After only a few seconds, the rest of the people in the room turned away, the desire to give the two some privacy rather strong.

When the kiss finally ended, Sera coughed into her hand, pretending to clear her throat, a slight rosy tint to her cheeks. “Now then, back to business matters. I know that the idea works, and since our original representative has perished, I would like to suggest a new Heaven representative who will visit Hell every month to receive updates on everyone’s progress.”

“Who would you suggest now? I don’t really want to deal with another arrogant prick who thinks he’s above those of us in Hell,” Charlie responded.

“I completely agree with your argument,” Emily said before Sera could. “That’s why the new Heaven representative will be Sir Pentious.”

Everyone was silent for a few seconds before cheers were heard even down the hall.

It took a moment for them to calm down. When they finally did, Sera continued to go over the logistics of how the meetings would work.

Shortly after, it was time for the Hazbins to leave. Some of them wanted to stay, but they knew they couldn’t.

With one last hug from everyone, a portal opened back to the hotel, and the Hazbins waved goodbye to Pentious who waved back, teary eyed.

When the portal closed, Charlie fell to her knees and sobbed more. She couldn’t tell if they were happy or sad tears. Probably a mixture of both. She discovered that Sinners in Hell could be saved, but that discovery came at the cost of one of her closest friends.

Of course, Charlie wasn’t the only one feeling the ache that was caused by seeing Sir Pentious once again, and knowing he made it. The revelation also gave some of the Hazbins a push to redeem themselves as well. Husk decided that if he could end his deal with Alastor, he’d try his damnedest to make it to Heaven. Angel had the same idea. Even Cherri decided she wanted to join the hotel in order to be reunited with her newfound love.

That night, after everyone had gone to bed, Vaggie and Charlie lay in bed together, cuddling. Charlie was too excited to sleep. She was looking forward to the following month when she could see Sir Pentious again, and every consecutive month following when they could catch up on the happenings of the Hazbin Hotel.

She couldn’t wait to see what happened next as the residents sought their own redemption, and word spread to the rest of Hell that her idea worked, as proven by the wannabe Overlord who reached Heaven in the end.

What a happy day in Hell!
