Summary
The pressure is on. After a 5th place earned only with Cal Weather's support, Jackson needs to win Daytona for his sponsors. He needs this win. Who is he without racing? Nobody.
But Cal Weathers, who should despise him, doesn't think so. Doesn't treat him like dirt, sneering and scoffing. Doesn't let his friends treat him the way he deserves. With Weather's support behind him, weighing on him, where is that going to leave Jackson when he's crossed the line?
“Now if you need anything, you just call up one of us, hear?” The Queen examines him carefully in the bright light. Even such harsh artificial lights can’t hide what remains of her beauty. “Anything,” she reiterates firmly. “Hear?”
