Education
Everyone says gen z knows nothing
That we are lazy and glued to our phones
Have you ever thought that our phones are educating us because you are banning our education
You just want to teach the education that can control us
So we can be your little robots
You say you are protecting us
That you want to protect kids
But instead you are banning books instead of guns
If we do get an education we could die at the place where we should feel safe at
You tell us to vote, but don’t teach us how
You are only giving us left or right
Or that it’s just the president on the ballot
If we speak out you silence us
Too busy on the illegal immigrants and spewing your political views
That you forget to teach us the basics
How about the genocide that we are all witnessing
Oh I’m sorry that causes too many emotions for you
How come you don’t have a problem talking about 9/11 or the Holocaust?
If I didn’t have the apps you are trying to ban I wouldn’t know the education I know today
I would just know the white washed Christian bullshit you are trying to shove down our throats
We are supposed to have religious freedom and freedom of speech
But do we?
If we don’t fit into your mold we are told to be quiet
And now you are saying there were riots instead of protests
Do you even know the difference?
You say you want us to be successful, but do you truly mean that?
Because if you did we would have a school counselor
SEL would be happening at least once a week in our classrooms
And no connections and chapel doesn’t count
You say you are a college prep school, but what are you preparing us for?
So far I’ve learned that Christianity is the only way
To keep all my thoughts to myself and mask so much that I don’t know even know myself
PDA is something you don’t want to do even if it simple as hugging and holding hands
But I know how to act like a white rich conservative Christian cishet male
And if it doesn’t fit into that mold hate it
Because love thy neighbor doesn’t apply to us anymore
We just cherry pick the Bible and use it as a sword to defend our ignorance and biases
So that’s why Gen Z is on their phones because we are learning more from a college drop out than we would a person with their masters in education
I’m learning that I’m autistic and that the education failed me
I learned the early presidents were terrible people
Biden is a huge liar
People would rather control uteruses than guns
The last thing is that countries let alone people don’t know how to solve conflicts
So yeah we use online as an escape and an education because our government can’t even get their act together
