During the planning stages of Gi-hun’s obsession with the games, Jun-ho slipped and told Gi-hun more than he intended about his time as an undercover guard. Armed with an explosive bit of knowledge, and still suspicious of Player 001 after their confrontation on watch, Gi-hun plans his rebellion better. Slightly better, but then, he's always had dumb luck. A small sacrifice for the greater good. When Jun-ho finally finds the island, it falls to him to make the call about the disclosure of Player 001’s true identity. Never mind that Gi-hun might just figure it out on his own, opening a Pandora's box to a perfect storm.

10 August 1792. Old alliances crumble and new ones form as the city grows more restive under rising prices and scant food. Then Paris awakens to the sound of alarm bells being rung across the city.
