   “Not a good morning,” Wylan grumbled, staring at Kaz who was curled on the couch beside Matthias, everybody looked small compared to him. Kaz just looked sad and miserable, in all his black clothes and noticeable eye bags and gauntness. “Jesper Fahey needs to fall in a ditch, I’ve been at school for two minutes.”

   “I don’t get it, he seems so nice.” Matthias hadn’t had a real conversation with Jesper, but he’d been in classes with him, and he seemed like such a stand-up guy.

   “He’s a good actor.” Kaz moved like he was going to stand up and Matthias handed over his cane without looking. “A little too good. I’ve got a ditch if you’ve got a timeslot in mind.”
