Long ago, two races ruled over earth, HUMANS and MONSTERS, they lived in peace and harmony for years until the humans grew in fear of the monsters for their power, the humans thus began a war against the monsters for years, they chased them into the deep underground depths of the mountains, from there 7 of their greatest magicians sealed them away, never to see the light of the surface ever again.
MT. EBBOT 20XX
Near the city of Brooklyn New York lies MT. Ebbot, It stands tall over the skyline just visible enough to see from the rooftops, The mountain is very infamous for the tales surrounding it, with those saying whoever goes climbing the mountain never return back down. And with 5 children already gone missing from venturing up the mountain, none have dared to go near it.
But one day, two heroic plumbers and a member of the star sprites have ventured up the mountain to find the missing children and return them back home to their families. Mario, Luigi and Starlow stood in front of the gaping hole that laid before them. As they readied for the next step of their journey, Starlow asked if the two brothers were prepared.
“Alright, are you two good to go? You've got your hammers packed right?”
“Oh yeah!” Mario threw his hammer into the air and caught it in his other hand
“Impressive as always, and you Luigi?”
“Yeah ha!” Luigi attempted to copy his brother only to completely miss and hit himself in the head with his own hammer
Mario and Starlow looked at each other with no comment
“You're good on Items right? You stacked up on a bunch so we should be fine I think.”
Mario and Luigi both showed off the items they brought, a few Super shrooms, super syrups, 1Up DX’s, Ultra candies, Ultra Nuts and some refreshing herbs
“Welp, I think we're ready to go! I hope you guys wore your good boots because that's one nasty fall.”
As Mario took a running start jumping into the pit Luigi began to follow behind but stopped just at the edge of it, looking down he began to back away fearfully shaking in his boots uncontrollably
“Luigi what's wrong? Oh you’re scared of the drop I see… Dont worry, I'll help you out!”
Starlow began to float behind Luigi, and rammed into him from the back, sending the plumber flying into the hole with his brother, Starlow followed soon after, floating down into the pit safely.
The drop into the mountain was shorter than it looked from the surface, after only a few minutes the two brothers fell from the light and onto a bed of golden flowers, Luigi landed on the ground perfectly without any trouble, being proud of himself for not falling on his face or landing on his head for once he struck a pose, Mario landed right on top of him a few moments later, burying the green one into the ground. Starlow floated down to Mario a few seconds later.
“Well that took a while, are you ok Mario?”
“Oh yeah!”
“That's good, how are you Luigi?”
Mario and Starlow looked around for a moment in confusion to where Luigi had gone “Luigi? Where are you?”
“Auuuughhh…” Luigi groaned out from under the soil
Mario jumped off of Luigi in surprise and took a few steps back
“Luigi quit playing with those flowers and get up, we have a job to do!”
Luigi hopped out from the ground and shook the dirt and flowers off of him, He turned to look at Mario and shot him an angry glare before going behind his brother ready to follow his lead
“So this is what's been down here for so long, I won't lie it's giving me the creeps! Let's hurry out of this place before something gets us.”
As the brothers moved along the rocky pathway and through the corridors they found themselves in, they came across a patch of grass in the middle of the room with what appeared to be a talking flower sprouting in the center, as the flower came to look at the 2 plumbers his face shifted into one of… confusion?
“Well… this is unexpected, you're not who I thought would show up at all…. Bah doesn't matter, Howdy! I'm flowey, Flowey the flower! You lot must be new to the underground arentcha! Someone oughta show you two how things work around here! Guess lil ol’ me will have to do!” Flowey winked as he said that last line
Starlow flew out behind Mario “And why exactly should we trust you? We don't have any reason to, and you don't seem all too trustworthy!”
“Yeesh, look missy I'm just tryna be friendly here and show you the ropes! Don’t gotta be such a stick in the mud..”
“Fine, what exactly do you want to show us anyways?”
“Just the rules around here, if you don't know how to defend yourself your gonna end up dead in a ditch pal!, but don't worry, your friend flowey will be there to guide you every step of the way!”
“Defend yourself? Buddy I don't think you know who you're talking to, these guys have beaten more baddies then you can count on both hands! Er metaphorically speaking in your case”
This seemed to peak flowey's interest “Really now? Well how about you two show me what you can do sense your friend here seems to have such a high opinion of ya!”
Mario and Luigi looked at each other for a moment and prepared themselves for the fight
“Letsa go!”
“Okie dokie”
As the battle began the fight music began to play, Mario prepared to do a simple jump attack before suddenly being interrupted by the flower
“What…. What are you doing? This isn't how you battle! How are you even doing this! Where’s your soul!? And where's my battle theme!? What did you DO!”
Starlow floated into the arena “What are you freaking out about? This is how battles work don't they? Geez I thought you said you ‘knew the ropes’ around here, looks like someone needs a tutorial on how fighting works!”
“This is NOT how battles work at all! I....No no no just calm down flowey, there has to be a reason for this, could you let me try something real quick?
Mario nodded and skipped his turn
Flowey quickly picked up that the floating blocks above him were his action blocks now for some strange reason… But he hit the block above him that seemed to be his Act block and selected the Red human on the right as he seemed to be the leader of the group in front of him

To say flowey was terrified was an understatement, to get a level that high you would need to do a full no mercy run TWICE, and what did those other stats even mean? SPD? STACHE? POW? Flowey had to get out of here and FAST
“Heh well. this was fun but… I just realized I need to go and do something… somewhere else… away from here…. Bye.” Flowey burrowed away quickly making the bros win the battle, unfortunately they didn't get any EXP but that made sense, At Least they got some coins out of it
“Well that was weird, why did he seem so scared after doing.. Whatever it is he did with that action command block he had, and the way he freaked out when we got into a battle… something weird is going on here and I don't want to stick around any longer to find out what, let's hurry up and get out of here”
Mario and Luigi began to walk towards the exit of the hallway they were in when they were interrupted by a tall goat monster that entered through the gateway of the exit
“Ah hello! Are you two alright? I heard voices coming from this room and I came to see what the commotion was… Oh you must be confused.. I am TORIEL, caretaker of the ruins. I pass through here everyday to see if anyone has fallen down. It does not happen often, You both are the first to come here in a long time.”
“Well Ms. Toriel, Thank you very much but we have to get going, we need to find the five missing kids who fell down here!”
“Oh… I see” Toriel said somberly, “Very well, come then I shall guide you three through the ruins..”
Toriel walked off through the exit with Mario and Luigi following soon after
