Cold mornings (rewritten!)

Summary:

Toya wasn't a morning bird, and he never will be. There is something so comforting about sleeping in during winter, but that might just be the warm comforter, blankets and comfortable pillows.

But it's awfully cold under the comforters and fluffy blankets right now, but so warm at the same time. Something was missing but Toya didn't know what it was. (Spoilers, it's Akito)

OR. Toya being clingy as hell and also very tired and grumpy

Notes:

I'm back to my Akitoya craze.
I haven't posted anything in a whole year what the flip 😔😔
ANYWAYS this is a rewrite for one of my old fanfics!! I dunno if my writing has improved at all, so you readers will need to be the judge of that lol.
Might start writing fanfics again cuz I have a lot of unfinished Akitoya ones!! Anyways enjoy :3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It was a cold morning. Light frost scattered across the grass outside, and the sun hadn't even gone up yet despite it saying 08:00 on the digital clock that sat on the bedside table.

Toya wasn't a morning bird, and he never will be. There is something so comforting about sleeping in during winter, but that might just be the warm comforter, blankets and comfortable pillows. Plus the fact that it's too cold to get up from bed.

But it's awfully cold under the comforters and fluffy blankets right now, but so warm at the same time. Something was missing but Toya didn't know what it was.

He stirred a bit, opening and closing his eyes every few minutes. Oh right, he stayed over at Akitos house for a sleepover. They haven't had one in a while due to the amount of practicing and events they've had the past couple of months.

A sigh escapes from him as he slowly sits up, yawning loudly and stretches.

Cold.

That's his first thought. He gets that Akito is a morning bird (unlike himself), but who goes jogging at five in the morning when it's winter and under 0 degrees? And the darkness as well… Touya could never do it. Not even for a year's worth of free coffee. Nope. Never. That is not happening anytime soon.

But the problem Is that Akito should be already back in bed. He leaves at 5 and is home at 6, and the clock reads 8:30 already.

Where is he..

Toya grumbles as he stands up from the bed, and decides to begin the quest of finding Akito and drag him back to bed. He needs to learn about the comfortableness of sleeping in! He gets that Akito gets nervous and antsy when he can't follow his routine, but it's a sunday.

With a bit of stumbling and force of will, he made it out of the bedroom. The first thing that hit him was the fresh smell of brewed coffee and pancakes. Despite the fact that he's gotten so used to the fragrance after the many years of being in different coffee shops with Akito, it still can't stop him from smiling.

He continues his adventure into the corridor, passing by Enas room. He heard from Akito that she's currently out of town with some friends.

Stuck to the front of her door is an old drawing that reads ‘NO AKITO ALLOWED.’ in big, bold letters and messy writing. Toya wouldn't be surprised if this rule still is in force today.

Now the stairs, a challenge for anyone and everyone. Toya groans as he starts taking slow steps down the stairs. One by one.

One… two… three…

Oh, he's already down the stairs. That was quick. The power of spacing out. He's rather thankful that he didn't misstep somewhere, otherwise he would've been more awake but also in extreme pain.

Toya looked around slowly, before deciding that Akito was most likely in the kitchen, as the fragrance of coffee and pancakes kept on getting stronger as he entered the kitchen.

And there he was, his betrayal boyfriend. Who left him cold and alone for three hours. But Akito could be forgiven quickly.

He's too cute to be angry at for too long… That's what Toya thinks at least (he just loves his boyfriend so much).

He stumbles his way over and hugs Akito from behind, burying his face into his neck.

‘’hm? Oh, good morning Toya.’’ Akito smiled, not looking away from the stove as he flipped a pancake.

‘’mm… Good morning…’’

‘’Did you sleep well? You kept on clinging on to me when I tried to get up for my morning run,’’

‘’You left me alone for three hours. how do you think I feel...’’

Akito chuckled a bit at Toya's grumpiness as he brought one hand up to ruffle Toya's hair.

‘’Sorry, sorry. I'll make it up to you after breakfast. We can stay in the entire day if you'd like.’’ Akito removed his hand off Toya, to his dismay. ‘’Breakfast is soon done anyway. Can you let go of me so I can get the plates ready?’’

Toya didn't budge, clinging onto Akito a bit tighter.

‘’Please?’’Akito pleaded.

Toya sighs and grumbles as he slowly lets go of him, stumbling over to the dining tables to sit instead. Akito smiled as he set up the plates and went to sit down by Toya. Two plates of freshly made pancakes stacked on top of eachother with whipped cream and some blueberries from the freezer, plus a cup of black coffee for Toya.

Both boys sat quietly as they ate breakfast. No words needed to be said.

Toya took a sip of his coffee, smiling a bit as the comfort of warm coffee hit his tongue. Meanwhile Akito stuffed some pancakes into his face, extremely hungry after his morning exercise.

After breakfast was done, Akito took the plates to go and wash them (let's be realistic here he didn't wash them, he just put them in the sink to clean up ‘later’), which prompted Toya to follow him and with very little effort try and drag him back to bed.

slowly up the stairs, Stumble across the hallway, and then enter Akito's messy room. Toya let go of Akito and immediately Went to flop down on the bed. Akito chuckled a bit in amusement, and went to lay down on the bed with Toya as well.

‘’Alright sleepyhead, you happy now?’’ Akito smiled as Toya clung onto him, which he obviously reciprocated back.

‘’Very.’’

They both laid there as sleep slowly started creeping up on them. Akito's head was cuddled up under Toya's chin, eyes droopy. Toyas hand tangled in Akito's hair, as both their legs tangled with each other as well. All you could hear were slow breaths as both of them slowly drifted off to sleep.
