Work Text:

“OUCH!” Sirius yelped. “What was that for?!”

“Well, maybe that will teach you to stay on your side of the bed,” Remus muttered as he hurried to reach over and turn out the bedside lamp, then reclaimed his spot in the bed. “Besides, you ran your ribs into my elbow. If you’d stayed on your side, that wouldn’t have happened.”

Sirius rubbed at his side; Remus couldn’t see, but could feel Sirius brooding in the darkness. “I need more space because I’m taller. I have longer limbs.”

Remus rolled so he was facing Sirius. His eyes had adjusted and he could see the outline of Sirius’ forehead and nose in the darkness. He lifted his hand and traced a finger down the slope of Sirius’ nose. “That excuse might have worked on my mother to get the front seat when we were seventeen, but it’s not going to work on me.”

“We need to work on your pillow-talk, Moony. I have some constructive criticisms I’d like to share.”

“Shh.” Remus tapped his finger on Sirius’ lips until Sirius kissed it. “I married you for your pretty face, not your constructive criticisms.”

He kissed Sirius goodnight, then rolled over and let Sirius grumble as he entwined their limbs together, listened as Sirius’ breaths slowed and evened out.

“Thanks for a great day,” Sirius said softly in his ear.

“You too.”
