In an effort to prank Sirius, James vanishes his leather jacket. Sirius is fuming, but James shrugs it off. “It’s just in the place where all vanished things go. Go get it back.”
Of course, no one goes to the place where vanished things go. It’s as good as lost if you vanish it. They say it’s guarded by a ferocious magical creature. Nonetheless, Sirius goes to get his jacket.
He finds the Place of Vanished Things, and living there among piles of items and (let’s be honest) more messes and broken things than anything, is a tall man with curly hair.
He’s wearing Sirius’s jacket.

"Is Will your boyfriend?" Holly asks, and Mike immediately chokes on the lettuce in his mouth.
"Wh- what?" he gasps, dropping his fork and swallowing back the salad that suddenly feels like cement in his throat. Holly's looking at him with a strange expression, like she's trying to figure something out.
"Will. Is he your boyfriend?" she repeats, even though Mike very obviously heard her, and the question doesn't feel any less shocking the second time.
"No!" He yelps. "No, why would you think that?"
Holly shrugs, taking another bite of spaghetti like this is a normal conversation and she is not slowly killing him. "Nancy calls him your little boyfriend sometimes, and Mom says he's your person, which basically means the same thing, and you live together and act like a couple and unpack groceries together, and- I don't know. Seems like it could be a thing."

Summary
When Sirius’s estranged brother Regulus dies, he leaves behind an unconventional will: a handwritten list of places to visit, people to see, and a single note saying “For when you’re ready to know me.”
The first line simply reads:
Find Remus Lupin. Apologise.
It’s been almost seven years since Sirius last saw Remus — his university flatmate, best friend, and the almost-love he ran from. Now, with regret tightening in his chest and nothing left to lose, Sirius reaches out. Remus agrees to go with him. Just for the first stop, he insists. But some roads don’t end where they think they will.
As they follow Regulus’s trail across the UK through rainy motorways, strange inns, and memories they buried a long time ago, what began as obligation becomes something else entirely.
The final stop is a lighthouse at the edge of the world. And neither of them is ready for what they’ll find there.

Remus chews the inside of his cheek as he considers. He glances sideways at Sirius again. Reclined in the passenger seat with his feet kicked up on the dashboard, tapping the beat to the music, Sirius looks completely at home.
Here, probably, he thinks.
UK, 1977. Remus had a plan. He was going to take an idyllic road trip across America with his best friend. He was going to write something that mattered. He wasn't going to be what his dad wanted him to be.
Getting bitten by a zombie dog wasn't part of his plan.
Now, Remus is parentless, homeless, and searching for his friend on the off-chance he’s still out there. But as it happens, the universe has a plan for him, and it involves hitching a ride with a trio of posh boys who like to plunder fallen towns...and maybe saving humanity in the process.
