Chapter Text

POV: Valiant

I saw you, one lucky day, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Hair as lightly colored as a caramel sweet, eyes the deepest brown that could soothe your mind, and charm as lively as a child. I wish to talk to you my fair lady...

"Oh my sir, you seem to be staring!" She had giggled out. At a loss for words due to me trying to pick an appropriate apology, I stumbled over my words. "O-oh dear! I am quite sorry ma'am, I bare no ill intentions..." I had said with a hint of nervous flair. "It is quite alright sir..."

We both looked around as shyness grew between us. I straightened myself out and turned to the beauty.

"Ahem... I believe we should start over," I managed to croak out. "Good evening madam, my name is Valiant Lovejoy, and what would your name be miss?" I hold my hand out in handshake. She smiled brightly, took my hand, and giggled her response.

"My name is Fiona, it's a pleasure to meet you sir, oh..."
She paused, her smile becoming softer. "Well... Valiant..."

I had held her hand, kissed the knuckles gently, and felt a flourishing feeling inside me once hearing my name. The way my name fell gently out of her tongue made me feel as if she owned it herself. As if it were only hers, and by God I would allow myself to be hers only.

After our small exchange of names, I decided to offer her a pastry, given that we were in a bakery know as the Gingerbread House. I bought her a slice of chocolate cake, as well as one for me as well. She thanked me, offering to pay for both of us. But I denied, instead offering I pay.

As we both chuckled at our collective insisting, we cut the price between ourselves, and finally got to eating our pastry outside the shop. We both kept up lively conversation, while I continuously got lost in a trance. She was unlike any woman I've ever been introduced to.

Not one lady in this sad and solemn town compared to the ray of sun that walked alongside me. I was begining to fall for her, her looks as well as her vibrant charm seem to sway me. While I was lost in her beauty, she started a new topic, though I'm not quite sure I heard. She waved her hand in front of my eyes,

"Valiant, are you alright? You seem distracted." She claimed with a slight chuckle.

I was, embarrassingly enough, "Oh dear, I'm truly sorry! I hadn't meant to ignore you, my dear. What did you say?" I tilted my head, with a slight blush prominent on my face. She looked down nervously,

"I was wondering if we could meet again? Tomorrow, perhaps at this building as well?"

I couldn't believe it, she wanted to spend more time together! I recollected myself, "Why, yes my dear! Of course, tomorrow it is then."

I smiled at her, and she looked up, smiling as well. We continued our chat, about nothing in particular, yet I was very focused on each word she said, never thinking I would bore hearing Fiona's smooth voice.

My sweet Fiona, I love you, how could I ever explain this feeling...?
