Work Text:
Eddie sits in the corner of the couch, a smirk pulling across his face as he watches Steve very enthusiastically explain what happened at the game he just got back from with Lucas. Listen. Eddie hates sports. He’s never understood the appeal. He doesn’t get why people get so invested in other people winning a game. He doesn’t know any of the rules to any kind of sports ball. But he loves watching Steve talk about it.
He gets this spark in his eyes, and starts rambling about stats and plays. His hands fly all around when he describes a good goal, or…point? Whatever one it is for balls in laundry baskets. He’s pretty sure that’s where they went tonight. Or was it baseball? Whatever. The team won! Woo-hoo or something. But Steve is excited. And Eddie loves when Steve is excited about anything.
“You should have seen it, Eds. He made the winning shot from so far away. It was nuts!”
Eddie grins and nods, leaning forward in his seat to grab the hem of Steve’s shirt and tug him down onto his lap. “I’m glad you had a good time, baby. Sounds like a great game.”
