The Radio Demon or Alastor, as he’s more commonly known, is one of the most powerful Overlords in Hell. Everyone knows that.
So, instead of telling you about things people already know, I’m here to tell you Five Things You Didn’t Know About the Radio Demon!
Number 1
Every week, Alastor and Rosie meet in Cannibal Town. People who see them seem to think several things. Either they’re on a date (not likely considering Alastor has no interest in things like that and Rosie is a lesbian), they’re plotting something (also unlikely as neither of them cares enough to do anything like that), or they’re eating someone (not super unlikely, just straight up untrue.)
What is actually happening is a weekly gossip session. Alastor and Rosie acquire information about various sinners and demons, meet in Cannibal Town, and tell each other what they know. They tell each other who they hate, why they hate them, and if they plan to do anything about it. Usually, the answer to the last question is nothing, because they are both far too powerful to care about low-level demons. But, it’s fun to plan nonetheless.
Rosie also keeps Alastor up to date on modern-day slang, always finding it very funny when he repeats what she teaches him in his old-fashioned radio voice. All in all, they just enjoy getting together every week, whether they do anything productive or not.
Number 2
Despite what he says, Alastor does have friends. And he actually cares for them quite a lot. So he wants to check up on them every so often. However, he has a reputation to uphold.
And usually, people freak out when he appears out of thin air.
So, he uses his trusty shadow to make sure his friends are okay. It gives him a bit of a headache after a while, seeing two places at once, but it’s a very useful and successful tactic so far so he doesn’t mind too much.
Of course, he doesn’t tell anyone.
Can’t ruin the reputation.
Number 3
Alastor reads a lot, which is common knowledge, but he specifically really likes romance novels. Despite his disinterest in engaging in it himself, he does enjoy reading about it. It’s fascinating.
The idea that people can really think of people in such a poetic way is so interesting. He likes reading about it, like he’s reading other people’s minds, and he thinks that it would be very overwhelming to feel all those things at once.
Number 4
He genuinely thinks that Angel Dust would be a good actor. After being forced to watch one of his… performances, Alastor noted that if the scripts weren’t so bad and the actual content itself wasn’t so… unpleasant.. then Angel would make an excellent actor. Alastor thinks he’s seen enough romance, so perhaps a horror movie would be the best fit.
Number 5
When Alastor first came to Hell, he became friends with none other than Vox. In general, Alastor still considers him a friend. A past friend, but a friend nonetheless. Vox was a fun person to talk to before he became so obnoxious. Alastor thinks sometimes that if Vox could relax, they would be able to be friends again. But that’s not going to happen anytime soon.
So now you know 5 more things about the Radio Demon than you did before now. Just don’t tell him I told you, the fact that he can and will kill people is very well-known and very true.
