Summary
"When you play the game of thrones, you win, or you die."
Violet finds herself caught between two crowns, and her choice can determine the fate of the entire continent. Xaden loves Violet and wants her at his side if and when Tyrrendor claims independence. Meanwhile, King Tauri comes to understand how vital Violet is to defeating the venin and protecting Navarre, and is willing to offer her exactly what she wants to secure her allegiance. How can Violet pursue her relationship with Xaden, and all the implications that come with it, without slighting the Kingdom of Navarre and causing another war?
The first two chapters are set during the events of Iron Flame. The third chapter, and beyond, diverge from Onyx Storm canon, building toward a conflict between Tyrrendor and Navarre.
