In Geralt's defense, everything was Jaskier's fault to begin with.
Of course it was only two weeks since he last saw Jaskier in person - which isn't that long, thank you for reminding him. And Jaskier did still message him daily and even video call once. But he was still busy and distracted in dealing with his family (Calling half of them the biggest shits to ever walk the earth, among other stuff maybe wasn't his greatest idea.)
The time spend writing to each other just fell short. Which would have been fine - Jaskier was often gone to on small tours and they didn't see each other for a while - if it wasn't for the fact that Jaskier had kissed him once and never mentioned it again. And Geralt couldn't stop thinking about what that may mean, not daring to hope, an unfamiliar heavy feeling sitting on his chest he couldn't place.
Needless to say Geralt noticed the absence of his roommate and missed him the more for it and couldn't wait when those two endlessly slow creeping weeks were finally over.
It was only on the second week when Geralt got a raspy breath and the feeling like something was lodged in his throat that he did get a bit concerned. (Witchers couldn't get non-magically sicknesses, and despite popular opinion, Geralt knew when to get himself checked out - a sick or injured witcher was a death witcher after all.)
Yen wasn't helpful. He visited her in her shop, hoping she could tell him what was wrong. "It's nice of you to always only stop by when you want something from me," she said pointed and he swore to stop by more often.
"By the way, when is Jaskier coming back?", she ask while checking him out.
"I'm picking him up next Tuesday."
"Good news then. It's not a curse and nothing serious. Your symptoms may persist until then but they will be gone until the end of the week." she said with a glint in his eye that he knew spelled trouble for him. When she wasn't more forthcoming he rescinded himself with waiting this one out and counted the days until Tuesday down instead.
Geralt arrived on time and luckily didn't have to wait too long. He hated airports with a passion - too much stimulation for his sharpened witcher senses. Jaskier said, it's fine and he could just take the subway home but Geralt still insisted on picking him up, wanting to have his roommate back as soon as possible.
When Jaskier spotted him his face broke out in a smile that Geralt would best describe as pure undiluted sunshine - his heart skipped a beat and a sharp pain shot through his throat.
Jaskier rushed over and (after carefully putting his guitar case down) tried to pull him into a hug and Geralt ...
Geralt doublet over, heaving heavily before vomiting yellow flowers upon yellow flowers on Jaskier's shoes.
The constant humming noise and the humdrum of the airport stopped. People around them turned to look at Geralt - and Geralt well, feeling panic wash over him, cursed Yennefer for not just fucking telling him about this. Of course - he was so distracted with his... with his pining that he missed the oblivious signs.
"Oh dear," Jaskier said, sounding slightly horrified, examining the Dandelions and Buttercups before slowly looking up at him puzzled and Geralt wished the ground would just swallow him whole. He just hoped that Jaskier had no idea what any of this meant so maybe-
"Wait- ...are those for me?"
(And oh gods- Geralt was utterly screwed - Jaskier knew...)
