Work Text:
There was once a small princess named Shizuka Yoshimoto.
For many years, she was silent, only being talked to by her wicked mother. Shizuka escaped to the world of books, and although she was content to live in that world, she was lonely.
Then, one day, a handsome and kind prince by the name of Rentarou Aijou came and knocked on her tower's door.
Ever since that day, she found that her life was full of love and light, and her beloved prince even helped give the antidote to the curse that entrapped Shizuka's mother.
Now, her life was much simpler, but it was happy nonetheless. It was a quiet day in the castle of her choosing, with all the students either in clubs or heading home for the day. Shizuka stayed behind that day, feeling quite melancholy that day. Of the source of such a feeling when she had a wonderful existence now, she was uncertain.
It was when she opened her tome of entertainment that her prince came through the castle doors, looking winded and excited.
"Shizuka!" he whisper-yelled, and Shizuka couldn't help but smile at his obedience to the rules of her kingdom.
"[Rentarou-kun], [I am here], [beside] [my armory of loves]." Shizuka's small fingers swiped through the phone easily.
Rentarou ducked behind the counter where Shizuka sat, grinning. "I got you something I think you'll really like! Here!"
Rentarou held out a plastic crown embedded with plastic jewels, which appeared similar to the princess's from the Circlet Love Story series.
"I know it isn't much, but I spotted a merch table at the bookstore today! I knew you already had everything else, but I didn't know if you had this!"
Shizuka felt her eyes sting, and she hid behind her phone. "[Thank you so very much], [Rentarou-kun]."
"No problem! May I help you put it on?"
Shizuka gave Rentarou the loveliest smile she could manage, her heart swelling with such deep affection she felt as though she was going to burst. "[You shall adorn me with] [the most beautiful of] [crowns] [that thou hast] [picked with thine hands]."
Shizuka bent her head down a little, and Rentarou perched the plastic crown onto her head. Shizuka looked up, and she averted her eyes, feeling her face burn with a mixture of pleasure and embarrassment.
"I love you, R-Rentarou," Shizuka murmured quietly, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. Then, using her device: "[Would it be alright for you to show thine ruler with affection, my love?]"
"That's completely fine!"
Shizuka reached and tugged at Rentarou's sleeve. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his chest gently and onto his lap. Shizuka wrapped her arms around his torso and nuzzled into his chest before looking up at him with a plea in her eyes.
"[Kiss me, my love, so that the stars above might look down at us in envy.]"
Rentarou ran his fingers through Shizuka's hair, just as she enjoyed. The sensation was calming and loving, and it sent her heart into such a quick flutter that if it were a bird, it could've been a hummingbird. His eyes that appeared as though they were gemstones sparkled and closed, and he pulled Shizuka close.
"I love you," he whispered before placing his lips against hers.
Metaphors and similes and imagery could not describe how Shizuka felt. The princess was finally sharing a true love's kiss for the first time that day, and it felt as though her entire body was sent into the flames of passion. She kissed back with all her might, and her joy only heightened when Rentarou pulled away and kissed her neck.
"[Rentarou-kun]..."
"Ah, I'm sorry. Did I make you uncomfortable?" Rentarou's voice was genuine and soft.
Shizuka snuggled into Rentarou's hold. "[No], [it felt] [wonderful]."
"I'm glad." Rentarou continued stroking Shizuka's dark blue locks. "I love you so much."
"[I love you too], [Rentarou-kun]. [More than anything]. [You have made me the happiest woman], [and, for that,] [I owe you my life] [and my love]. [Without you,] [I would be] [all alone.] [You hath given me] [love and] [light], [and I hope to reciprocate] [and give back] [what you've given me] [ten thousandfold], [including] [love] [everlasting]."
The lonely princess kissed the kind prince one more, and she knew in her heart that there would be many more.
After all, this was her Happily Ever After.
