Chapter Text
Legolas stood in the middle of the room, staring directly at his father in a way that showed a lot of stubborness. Thranduil was equally staring and stubborn, almost reproachful. Legolas was tall with silver hair, blue eyes and white skin, with a beautiful face. His father was also similar to him in this respect, but expect for the color of eyes, hair, skin and beauty, they had almost no other physical similarities. They had been staring at each other for several minutes and it seemed that they intended to stay like this until the end of day.
There were different thoughts in eachone's mind. Legolas had returned home after the great war, he was happy that his father is alive, their realm was not lost, Worried for his friends and he didn't feel like arguing. Actually he preferred to talk to each other in a friendly way instead of an eye duel, but considering their relationship, he would like to have a simple conversation instead of an argument that might arise, and go find his friends, and the hardest part of his return finish sooner.
Thranduil did not think Legolas would return to Mirkwood after the war. He was happy that his son is alive and that he was back, but he didn't know how to act. The best thing that came to his mind was to stick with the title that he had gone the South to destroy the Ring; but he knew that it was neither suitable nor useful. It had been so long since Legolas hadn't live in Mirkwood so he couldn't complain if he did or didn't do something.
They both continued to stare until Thranduil decided to cut short. He nodded briefly
— It's good to see you.
Legolas was relieved
— Me too.
— How was it?
— Good. What is here?
— It was good here too . It was annoying , but it ended anyway.
— I heard something from Lord Celeborn. I'm glad Dolguldur is destroyed, we're relieved.
Thranduil was glad to hear we were relieved
— Yes. We also changed the name of Mirkwood, I hope it will return to its old time as much as possible.
— "Eryn LasGalen". It is a beautiful name. It's good for replacing Mirkwood and it is close to "Eryn Galen " or "Greenwood the Great".
— What else did Celeborn say?
— He didn't say much, about the attack on Lorien, Mirkwood, Dale... your war, the destruction of Dolguldur, the new name of Mirkwood... that's it.
— Almost nothing else is left.
— He didn't say the details, I want the details.
— I know. Behold.
And he pointed at Legolas's back, Legolas turned.
Became happy
— Heryn!
And ran like a child towards the elf who was coming. He hugged her tightly. Elf was tall with gray eyes, white skin and white blond hair. She was beautiful.
Legolas said
— I missed you Nánig.
— I missed you too, melnnîn.
They separated.
Heryn glanced at Legolas
— Are you alright? Is something wrong with you?
Legolas laughed
— I'm fine, more than fine, I didn't even get a scratch.
— I was afraid that you would get injured and there would be no one there, but now that I hear it, I am happy.
And she hugged him again.
They separated and Heryn said again
— How much did you define?
— Nothing. We had not yet said anything special, just what I heard happened here.
— Good, there are many things to define, both you and us. But not now, you're tired. Go rest now, come and tell us later.
Legolas said with a laugh
— Sure, be prepared for a lot of details.
and turned to his father
— Ada, Ardir?
— He's fine. He has gone to Dale. He will
probably come back tomorrow.
Legolas was delighted and nodded his head happily
— Good.
He smiled at Heryn and left.
He happily went to his room, which he had not seen it for a while.
Heryn turned to Thranduil. Thranduil said nothing. He was glad that she came and interrupted their conversation. This was their first meeting after a while and it was not going to end well their way. Fortunately, Heryn knew how to behave between them, she had been helping about Legolas for years, almost part of Legolas' responsibility was with her since he was a child. And Thranduil was glad that she was settling matters now.
Heryn said
— I'm happy to see him, I don't know if he wants to stay or go, but it's good that he came.
— Yeah.
— You don't need to argue with him, you can say anything.
— I do not want to argue with him. we don't have that much of a problem, only recently we had a bad.
— I know you don't have problem with each other, you are very good together, really, just try not to continue this recently. only this.
Thranduil nodded in agreement. Heryn nodded her head too and left.
She thought to herself *Yes, they are very good, I just need to fixe it.*
