Joshua’s a typical student working a part-time job in university’s cafe, because that's what everyone does and he’s too good of himself not to work there. Plus he receives money, which cannot be not great for his wants and needs (and paying the rent still was a thing, unfortunately).
Well, mostly there’s not many students going to the cafe, mornings are the busiest (if fifteen customers in two hours is what’s called busy, but the university’s small).
While doing pretty much nothing on a random Friday, wishing the day to end faster and get home to rest, Joshua found his way to the back door. Fresh air would never disappoint.
Humming maybe his third song and watching the trees (the best thing to watch, you should definitely try), Joshua heard some noises coming from.. he didn't know where, actually. And the noises were pretty much sounding like little cat’s crying and it was definitely not great. So he spent at least five minutes (maybe not, he found where the sound was coming from after half a minute at the very most) finding presumably a cat. What he found didn't really look like a cat, more like a human. For a second he thought it might be some werewolf, although they weren't real, so once he was back to reality, he realized that the human was very much staring at him.
“Sorry, do you know how to feed a kitten ?” Was the first thing the human asked. And the human looked so cute, Joshua barely managed not to smile widely. Fading red hair, slightly long, just enough to cutely lay by the sides. Worried brown eyes and a mole under one of them. Small pink lips that were definitely covered with cherry lipstick. Red sweater with white stripes (or white with red..?) was perfectly matching the hair. And the human was holding a kitten. Right ! A kitten !
“I’m.. sorry, I don't think I do ?” Joshua hesitated, being completely unable to think in the current situation, “Well, I mean, it doesn't seem to be really hard..” he then bent over to see the kitten properly. “Where did you find it ? Or is it yours ?” Joshua asked curiously looking at the human (he definitely needed to ask for their name).
“I was actually going to get some coffee, even though I’m not going to classes today, but oh well, changes in routine are awful, so the best decision I could make was to wake up at six in the morning and get there. But it happened that I heard some noises and found this kitty. I’m a nice guy, so I couldn't just leave it here, and I bought this cat food with the money I had for my coffee.” This definitely left Joshua in shock for a quite bit, before he once again came back to reality.
“Details. Great, we have a kitty to deal with now, my Fridays weren't this fun in a hot minute.” Joshua smiled, causing the guy beside him to smile, too.
“We ? Are you gonna help me for real ?” The guy seemed to be happy, his eyes widening even more this time with such pure excitement.
“Yes. Now, let's get this kitten to a better place, I don't think it's so comfortable here.” Joshua paused, “Oh, and get you a coffee. It's on the house.” Joshua clicked his tongue, trying to be cool. (Well, Joshua would definitely pay his own money for this, but that's not something his new friend is supposed to know.)
After finding a bench, Joshua didn't know how he didn't notice before, they sat on it, trying once again to feed the kitten.
“We should name it Friday or something, lol.” The red-haired guy giggled (Oh the pretty sound), “What's your name, by the way ?” he asked then, after the cat finally stopped crying and started eating.
“I’m Jisoo.” Joshua introduced himself with his korean name, “What about you ?”
“My name’s Jeonghan ! Nice to meet you, Soo.” The guy, Jeonghan, smiled warmly, petting the cat.
“I’m thinking about Cherry, for the kitten’s name. What do you think ?” Joshua said after a while of them sitting and watching the said kitten.
“Cute ! That’s exactly the flavor of my lipstick.” Just as Joshua expected, “How’d you happened to be here ? Or wait— You’re working in the cafe, right ?” Jeonghan seemed to realize now, “So that's why you looked familiar.” he hummed after Joshua nodded.

“You sure you can keep the cat, Soo ?” Jeonghan asked on their way to Joshua’s apartment. If you’d ask how they ended up going there.. Well, they spent a few more minutes with the kitten at the back of the cafe, before Seungkwan, the guy who’s working with Joshua, asked him to go back to work and smiled so widely after seeing Jeonghan (he’s literally bringing everyone’s smiles, what a charming guy). Then the two of them spent few more hours at the cafe (because none has classes today) and after talking quite a lot (Joshua now knows almost the whole life of Jeonghan's, and just so you know, Jeonghan loves to get into details, even if it's silly ones. Like that time he said he remembers the episode of My Little Pony, where Twilight read a spell and the others’ cutie marks changed. One of his favorite episodes, though), they decided the kitten would live with Joshua in his apartment, because Jeonghan still hasn't found an actual place to live and lived at his parents’. Typical broken students. (Joshua offered him to live at his, but Jeonghan visibly hesitated, yet said he would think about this amazing opportunity.)

“Soo ! Did you buy the food for Cherry ?” Jeonghan asked from their kitchen, “I can't find it anywhere !” he came back to the living room, well, he was standing in the doorway in Joshua’s t-shirt and apparently Joshua’s shirts (they bought matching ones, so he couldn't really tell whose were those).
“Did you search on the top shelf ?” Joshua asked from the couch, playing with Cherry.
Jeonghan raised an eyebrow, “I thought we agreed on not putting stuff on the top shelf ?” he said then.
“Oh.. Sorry, my bad. Let me get that for you.” Joshua apologized and got up from the couch, walking towards the kitchen.
“Not that easily, my dear friend !” Jeonghan pouted, crossing his arms and looking up at his said dear friend.
Whatever, but he didn't expect a kiss from Joshua, “What—” he stood there dumbfounded, while Joshua easily got into the kitchen and came back with the cat’s food they were originally talking about.
“Don't stare at me like that, you’re scaring me..” Joshua giggled.
“Can you do that again ?” Jeonghan only managed to say, his eyes ever so widely and curiously looking at Joshua.
Cherry would wait, but the cherry taste of Jeonghan's lips wouldn't. (They really should’ve fed the cat first, because far they know Cherry would bite both of them. What a love hater.)
