Muddy Motorcycle Ride || Zosan, Sanji Week 2024

Summary:

Zoro and Sanji have always been rivals, until a few days later when Zoro bumps into Sanji as he was running late and was later forced to bring him to school that day.. except in reality, they happen to have a "brief" bonding moment together, despite idiocy..

Work Text:

      Day 4, Modern Day

Starting off the day with a sprint to the bus, Black-leg Sanji, was on the brink of making it until a green-headed student stumbles on Sanji's feet.

"Shit! What the hell, you bastar-.." He cussed at the sudden fall, before shutting up at the sight of the twirly-browed student tripping after him. With Sanji's pants covered in the soil and mud, he non-verbally expressed his fury with his middle finger. As Zoro shoves him to the side with his head just barely missing the hard pavement, the blonde-haired student slammed his fists down while raising his voice.

"You've got to be shitting me right now! I just missed my goddamn bus because of you! I bet you got lost from school and somehow ended up here of all places!!" Sanji complained in exasperation, throwing his arms out as he whined. The green-headed athlete beside him sarcastically pushes his head forward while getting up and dusting his pants.

"You're fucking exaggerating. If you're so desperate, I'll grab my bike and get us there on time."

"Oh you better, jackass!! And don't lose your way getting to school this time.." Sanji uttered while taking out his cigarette pack and huffing the smoke directly at Zoro's face. The blonde was aware he already missed his first periods many times due to weather conditions and sleeping in, but he promised that staring from today, he'd get to class on time. While time ticked endlessly on his watch, he takes a small peep of it under his sleeve and notices the time interval of making it to class promptly. Even knowing this, he lived nearby a dock on the east side of the school and would typically commute for about thirty to forty minutes.

By the time they get to Zoro's house and travel to East Blue Secondary School, they'd likely make it there by the end of the day with Zoro's senseless directions! Although he couldn't trust the moss-head completely in navigating to where they are right now to their high school, the two were already on their way to grab Zoro's bike and he had already put most of his trust on his sense of direction. Believe it or not, Sanji would rather skip school entirely than to follow the idiot moss-head's wrongful directions. However, with his low motivation to speak up to the bastard that had been the downfall of his day, he decided to dismiss awful situations that could or could not happen.

Moments after the two hopped on the motorcycle, Zoro starts the engine while loosely fitting the helmet around Sanji's skull.

"That fit fine?"

"Err.. a bit loose and wide but-" Sanji gets cut off as Zoro tightens the straps around the helmet.

"Holy shit, I get it, you damned shithead!" Sanji yelped quietly, jumping slightly from his seat on the bike. Not only does the idiot tighten it harder intentionally, but a smug smirk is worn on his face after Sanji's disapproving frown! What a dickhead! After adjusting the helmet properly to fit his head, he sits comfortably on the motorcycle chair and finds the soft cushion used underneath him helped soothed the ride there. Eventually, the motorcycle revs forward and they boost ahead of speed limit before Sanji had even wrapped his arms around Zoro's muscular frame.

Angered by his bulkiness and manly-build, he nudged the green-headed boy as he swerved around sharp turns and causing Sanji's bangs to dwindle over his eyes. As Zoro took another shortcut through alleys and tight spaces, Sanji couldn't resist the urge to lean directly on his slumped back as he drove around the town. The space was cramped and Zoro was enraged by the clinginess and restlessness of the cook behind him.

"You son of a bitch! I'm gonna let go of the damn motorcycle if you keep your entire frame wrapped around my own, for crying out loud!!"

"You're blaming me?! At least don't block the view or cut corners if you can't drive with my body reclining all over you!!"

The two bickered for a while longer and eventually got to the point where Zoro let go of the handles for a millisecond in time. Completely stunned by such a compulsive response, Sanji immediately loosened his grasp around Zoro's figure but still kept their distance relatively close to each other. It even got to a point where Sanji's leg would occasionally rub against Zoro's larger thighs, and it would fluster the crap out of the moss-head. Despite this, they pushed through the traffic and took timesaving paths when necessary. Even with the headedness surrounding the two right now because of the heavy tension between their "close intimacy", the two shrugged off the feeling as a casual emotion of awkwardness due to their circumstances at the moment.

Nearing another traffic light, Zoro hastily makes another speedy turn to his right and finds himself on the highway at quick speeds. These two have absolutely gone rogue and fallen victim to Zoro's directionless ass. As Sanji's hands find its way back around the handles of the motorcycle, he grabs the phone straight in the middle of the bike and takes a look at their map. Quickly catching onto the fact that they had been driving opposite of where they would supposedly be at this moment, Sanji hurriedly shook his shoulders and directed him to the nearest exit of the highway.

"You absolute idiot of an athlete and math major! The directions are to the left, and you've been reading google maps upside down this entire time, goddamn you!!" Sanji scolded the driver.

"Fucking hell! Fine, I'll go the other way then! Give me the damn phone!!"

"No way! I'm getting Siri to voice out the directions to you, so listen carefully, you lost brute!!" Sanji immediately pulls out a "quick search" to Siri and politely asks her to voice out each individual step to driving in the right path. Annoyed, Zoro snatches the phone back and places it back in the centre of the vehicle, before starting it up and driving off into the distance with Sanji.

The blonde-haired student sighed deeply and was completely aloof to the circumstances of his late presence to school. Eventually, as the motorcycle revs forwards and they boost ahead of the speed limit, Sanji squints at his watch to see it's already the beginning of first period. Knowing they'd both be late, his natural response was to shake Zoro and knock him out of the driving spirit. Sanji was a bit frazzled to say the least and wanted his concern to be acknowledged by the brute in front of him. Through the forceful thrusts of wind, numerous amounts of inaudible yells escape from the chef's mouth and never got through to Zoro's earshot. In conclusion, he makes a risky move and grabs the handles of the motorcycle and tilts it slightly to their right as Zoro grabs the other handle instinctively and pulls it back up to regular height.

"What do you want, you dumbass?! Do you want us to-"

"We're already late to.." Sanji started, before thunderous lightning strikes can be heard nearby their location. As he shuddered at the instant sound of lightning when rain began to pour, he gripped Zoro's gut tightly while his other hand grasped his shoulder in a tight hold. Out of sheer embarrassment of Sanji's instinctive clutches around Zoro's chest, he gave the blonde a slight nudge in surprise. The motorcycle quickly tipped to the side while Sanji elbow grazes the road and causes them to tumble down the hill of tumbleweeds.

Undoubtedly did the two roll over each other as their backs hit the trench of slob and rolling tumbleweeds stop at their sudden fall. Gritting his teeth, Sanji grabs ahold of his elbow as it bled and trickled down to the soil and turf.

"Ah.. shit.." He winced through the locking of his jaw. Looking down at the sight of the tissue around his elbow being scraped off, the student beside him reactively puts pressure on the deepening wound. As Sanji grimaced and squirmed at his harsh treatment, he took a sharp inhale and held his breath there, his mouth agape as he prevents any grunts from escaping his lips.

The heavy plunges of rain hitting the ditch the two rolled on dirtied their school clothing and even completely covered the bottom half of Zoro's shirt to complete dirt and mud. When Zoro finishes wrapping his bandana around Sanji's bleeding elbow and tightening it securely, Sanji breathes heavily through the rain and leans on Zoro's shoulder.

With the rainfall hitting their face at a rigorous speed, the two students look up and watch the skies cloud grey.

"You're so stupid.. do you wanna just skip? At this rate, we'll definitely be making it to school when it's officially ended."

"Well I'm warning you. I definitely did not enjoy that muddy motorcycle ride..
