Prompt D for Desk – That Poor Desk!
Naruto made it… He finally became Hokage. And you better believe it!
No mentioned relationships.

Naruto could only gape at the Hokage’s office.
He had been here countless times, but never like this. He was never the Hokage. It was so surreal. Incredible. A relief to make it this far… Maybe even a little intimidating, if he thought too hard on it.
But he instantly knew he was where he belonged, and he smiled.
He finally made it.
He spun around where he stood, eyes taking in the windows overseeing Konoha, his home. His gaze caught the small imperfections of the floors from everyone who ventured into this office, both past Hokage and villagers alike. He could imagine his father, Grandma Tsunade, all the other Hokage before him, heading through that doorway. All of that was better than he hoped for.
He eventually stopped his spin, his blue eyes bright and grin beaming. He was there. He never doubted himself, but he was finally Hokage.
He turned to look at the desk before him, gaze lingering on it for some time. Paperwork and scrolls lay on the desk, just as ready as he was to be there. Present and ready to change whatever they needed to together.
He was there, and he had his family and friends behind him. There was nothing like this, he was certain.
His eyes gave the office – No, he looked at his new office one more time. He would never forget this feeling. It made his heart soar, his face hurt from the happiness stretching his cheeks and his eyes stung just a little.
He suddenly front-flipped over and landed onto his desk, his feet making a quiet but there sound, the whoosh of paperwork scattering from his excited jump onto the wood.
“I am Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage; believe it!”
He kind of hoped no one heard his shout, but he did not care much if they did. This was his dream, and he made it, all because of them and despite all the trials and errors. He did it, and Konoha accepted him, outbursts and all.
“Ah, I see you’re making yourself at home in what used to be my office,” an amused, lighthearted drawl came from the threshold of the doorway.
Naruto’s eyes snapped open, and he jerked back, trying to get off the desk immediately, but in his haste, his foot slipped on the (probably now semi-crushed) documents. He careened down with a shout, all flailing limbs and the rest of the papers and scrolls exploding into the air. He tried to casually hop back onto his feet, but he ended up smacking his head off the desk, which tipped it over with a loud bang.
Naruto tried to laugh, although it was mainly a nervous chuckle, and he peeked over the overturned desk, rubbing the back of his head, both to ease the pain and the embarrassment. “H-Hey, Kakashi Sensei.”
Kakashi merely smiled, eyes turning up into their amused half crescents. “That’s one way to break it in, Naruto.” He walked over and offered Naruto a hand.
Naruto reached out to take it, but before he could defend himself, Kakashi said something that made his heart squeeze and those tears from earlier threatened to escape again.
“Or should I say: Lord Seventh? Although it is your office now so you deserve to break it in whatever way you want. You earned it.”
Just as Kakashi finished his words then helped him up, Naruto leaped in for a big hug to his former sensei, and the former Hokage. “Thank you,” he whispered, thanking not only Kakashi, but secretly Konoha too.
Thank you all for letting me get here.
And although he believed it, it was still a little hard to take in that he made it and that he deserved this.
They all chose him to be their Hokage…
This was his dream…
And this was where he belonged.
He was the Seventh Hokage of Konoha.
And he will be the best Hokage he can ever be, best believe that!
