Work Text:
One of the perks of being pregnant was that with one look at Alan while Way looked the slightest bit green from morning sickness the alpha would send him home. And that’s how that Way found himself back at home. He was cozy on the plush gray couch in his most comfortable sleeping shorts and one of Kenta’s black vests that still had his scent on it. On his lap was a rather large bowl of popcorn with powdered cheddar mixed with a handful of reese's pieces that he was happily munching on while watching the latest episode of Dear Child.
The front door beeped open, he stretched to see who it was. His eyes widened with joy. “Baobei!” He went to set the bowl on the coffee table.
“Hey, teerak. ” Kenta greeted him back. He dropped his duffle by the door, slipped off his leather jacket, then toed out of his boots. Kenta was glad to be home. The worst part about celebrity babysitting was that they still liked to think they were average citizens. His client had been less than thrilled to have to follow the rules that their manager had set in his contract with them. His thoughts shifted as he caught sight of Way on the couch.
He looked so good and inviting. He must have come earlier because he was sure that Way was supposed to be in training today. “You stay there.” Kenta commented as he approached his mate. He reached out to gently tilt Way’s chin up with the curve of his index finger.
“Wait, what happened to your face?” Way frowned, reached up to cup his mate’s cheek but Kenta caught his hand.
“Don’t worry, it’s just work.” Kenta pressed a gentle kiss to the man’s wrist then leaned down to kiss him softly. “Please stay here and I’ll be right back once I take a shower.”
“Want me to make you a sandwich?” Way asked, wondering if his lover had more bruises and cuts that he couldn’t see beneath that henley. The ones on his face bothered him a lot. He knew that it didn’t hinder Kenta but it worried him a lot. “Call Dr.Kit?”
“No, no. I already got checked out. It’s just superficial. Don’t worry your beautiful head over them. And I’d love something to eat.” Kenta pressed another kiss to Way’s forehead before heading towards their master bedroom upstairs.
Way narrowed his eyes at Kenta’s retreating back, his hand reaching out to snag some more of his popcorn. The other hand grabbed his cellphone to start texting Pete when he finally got up to go make the sandwich.
By the time that Kenta came back down, Way was a bit more calm now that he had texted Pete to check with Dr. Kit about Kenta being looked at. Sure enough he had gotten himself checked out but it hadn't been by their clinic though. They’d been thorough in their notes and pictures so at least Pete could tell him all of what the doctor had treated. Kenta was a stubborn alpha and his ability to not feel pain could only intensify that.
“I told you not to worry. But I can see you are anyways.” Kenta chuckled as he caught Way trying to not let it show on his face.
“I’m always going to worry just a smidge.” Way wrinkled his nose as he childishly stuck his chin up. That only made Kenta laugh more as he got closer. Instead of him sitting down on the couch beside Way, he carefully picked up the bowl that was back on Way’s lap to set it on the coffee table; then sprawled out on his stomach as he proceeded to lay on Way’s legs. His face pressed against the small swell of Way’s stomach.
“Really?”
“Mhnf.” Kenta gave back, making Way roll his eyes as he combed his fingers through Kenta’s damp hair. He could smell Kenta’s contentment as well the fact that his mate had just fallen asleep which made him smile fondly.
“Well that didn’t take long.” Way mumbled, then allowed himself to really take in the older alpha’s back. There was a new pattern of bruising and cut on his side that had been resealed with some adhesive. The smell of the painkiller cream mixed oddly with Kenta’s scent. He really didn’t like this kind of work for Kenta but it’s the job he’s used to. Yes, it was rare for him to come home this way but he didn’t have to at all. He grabbed his phone to text Pete about revisiting the idea of Kenta finding something else that he enjoys doing besides this.
