Chapter Text
Alastor can’t help but laugh excitedly while he rummages through his bookcase. After weeks of Husk and Angel tiptoeing around each other, Alastor has turned to magick to help speed up the process of their romance. Running a finger over the spines of the books on the shelf, Alastor finally finds the spell book he’s looking for. As he pulls it out, he sits in the middle of the room and opens it while placing it on the floor.
He flips through the pages, humming a song that’s been playing on the radio repeatedly for the past few days. “Ah!” He gets to the page he’s been looking for, his permanent smile widening. Green energy fills the room as he chants the needed words in his head over and over again until he feels the spell working.
On his way to check on the two lovebirds, Alastor has to physically resist the urge to skip. He feels a little too proud of himself for this particular scheme, especially when he sees Angel and Husk talking to each other in the lobby which is a massive improvement from them ignoring each other.
Although, as Alastor gets closer he starts to get more suspicious. They both seem to be confused. Like really, really confused. Alastor’s confident step falters as he walks closer to the couple. As soon as he gets close enough they both turn to look at him, their faces showing two very different emotions. Husk is looking at him like he’s a little terrified of him just looking at him and also very lost. Angel is looking at him in a very similar way that he did the first time they met, so Alastor stops a bit closer to Husk.
“Hello, you two.” He greets, his smile lessening slightly. Something about the way Husk is looking at him is making him nervous. He’s gained Husk’s trust back after releasing him from his control and the way Husk is looking at him is sending him back to those early days again.
“…Hi?” Husk says, tilting his head in a way that makes him look a bit like a curious puppy.
“Hey there, handsome,” Angel says, running a hand through his hair in what Alastor assumes is supposed to be a seductive way. Alastor physically recoils. Along with Husk not fearing him anymore, Angel had promised to never flirt with him again after he told him it made him uncomfortable. So seeing Angel flirt with him really threw him off.
“Hello…” Alastor repeats, now just as confused as the other two. “Are you two okay?”
“…Yes? I don’t know.” Husk says honestly, scratching idly at his ear. “I’m a little lost.”
“Lost?”
“Yeah, could you help me out?”
Alastor hesitates. “Um, maybe?”
“I just wanted to know who you are,” Husk asks, another thought occurs to him right after he finishes talking. “Oh, and, who I am…”
“What?” Alastor asks, his confusion and earlier confidence dissolving into quickly building panic.
“Uh, I have the same question.” Angel pipes up.
Alastor smiles weakly. “This is… a joke, right?”
“No…?” Husk says.
“Oh.” Alastor’s smile almost completely disappears off his face. Not entirely, of course, it’s not physically possible for him to do that anymore, but just enough that it’s a noticeable difference. He laughs, the sound is a tad hysterical. “Oh, then I defintley fucked up.”
