Chapter Text
“Athena!” Bobby calls out as he closes the front door. Bobby had just gotten home from his 24-hour shift, he wasn’t tired because had gotten some sleep already at the firehouse. Although his wife had gotten home a few hours ago after getting groceries for dinner when she got off her shift.
No answer? Bobby walks down the stairs.
“Baby?”
As he steps into the kitchen expecting to see his wife but only to find grocery bags on the floor. Confusion rises in his chest as he continues to examine the kitchen. Where was his wife? He looks to the patio outside but no one was there. Her car was home, her keys were in the bowl, and her shoes were inside the house.
He starts walking to their bedroom and as he reaches the room, the sight he sees makes his heart skip a beat. She was laying down on his side of the bed, no blanket, just on her side with her arms under his pillow and her face against it, smelling in his scent.
Bobby starts to understand what happened. She had told him she was tired after her shift, and he offered to buy the groceries but she insisted on doing it because she didn't want him to be home late. So once she bought groceries, she came home setting the groceries down but went to the bedroom to maybe get something and could have laid down just for a second but probably fell asleep in his spot. Most likely because she missed him.
He smiles, gently walking toward her, giving a kiss to her forehead, and watches her stir slightly. He was so in love with her. He couldn’t help but admire her features, she was relaxed as if all her stress fell away, her eyelids closed and the soft breathing as her chest rose up and down.
He stayed there for a few minutes, thinking about every moment they had spent together. He was so grateful to have her in his life, to have her as his support, and just every single moment.
After a few minutes, he grabs the blanket and puts it over her, tucking it in around her softly so he doesn’t wake her. Then he heads to the kitchen to start dinner, and clean the house.

A few hours later.
“Mmm.” Athena starts to stir, a very good smell of food hits her nose. Her eyes start to blink open. She could feel a presence in her room, she was now on her other side. Her eyes immediately landed on her husband who was on her side of the bed, reading a book, not knowing she had woken up. She watches as his eyes move from left to right as he reads, she looks at his features, he was cute. She smiles slightly, gazing at him.
Then his eyes suddenly make contact with her own, feeling her gaze, he immediately breaks into a smile, and his eyes twinkle. “Have a nice nap?” He asks, putting his book down.
“I did.” She says in a soft quiet voice, watching as love flows through her husband's eyes, making her heart flutter.
He leans down to give her a kiss, and whispers against her lips.
“Dinner is ready.” He says quietly.
She kisses him back and shifts closer to him, putting her head on his chest, wrapping her arms around his body, and her legs on his own.
“Soon.” She murmurs into his chest. “I just want to be here with you right now.”
Bobby complies, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her temple. They laid in each other's embrace for just a few minutes longer. All they wanted right now was to just be at peace and comfort just a bit after a long day. Everything felt fresh, their love was blossoming.
