    Summary

okay literally no joke i was reading academic papers for uni and came across two rivals who were arguing about gothic and romantic literature and i thought it would be wild if they were doomed forbidden lovers so if you're still listening, here's the rundown:

Robert G. Plattner and Gregory R. Houston are rivals, just as their fathers before them. They've battled each other throughout all of university, and now, to earn their Ph.D's, they must each write a compelling thesis and publish it to send it out in the world. The problem is: they both wrote opposing arguments, and they both got published to the same journal. To make matters worse, they're both being asked to write follow-ups, to prove themselves once more, and to retain their standing as the esteemed scholars they are. The catch? To best each other with their papers, they may have to get to know each other and figure out each other's arguments ahead of time. But will getting to know each other prove torturous, or will they discover a newfound connection?
