Minho stuffed his phone into the front pocket of his bag as he turned to Hyunjin. "How do we even start a conversation with him?" he asked the slightly taller man who was also busy stuffing his phone somewhere in his own bag. Hyunjin shrugged and responded "We wait for him to say something or find a common interest or trait. We comment on it and then we see where it takes us I guess?" Minho hummed in agreement. He guessed it made sense. That's how meeting people worked. However, this was different and since it was planned, he couldn't help but feel odd about how they were approaching this situation.
Minho sighed as the duo entered the changing room of the dance studio, his eyes immediately started searching for the new kid they had been talking about up until that point. After a while of searching, he spotted the kid and suddenly everything Chan had rambled on about made sense. The kid really did look fragile, maybe a little nervous. Hyunjin barely stopped himself from cooing out loud. "Oh don't worry Lino-hyung I got this." he said happily. Minho couldn't help but chuckle as they got ready to dance together. As soon as everyone was out in the dance studio and stretching, Minho watched as Hyunjin walked up to the aussie.
"Hey, I don't think I've seen you here before. You're new right?" Hyunjin said with a soft tone as he stood behind the new kid only to be met with a curious expression in return. "Oh yeah.. I'm new'' the new kid said with a shy yet curious expression on his face. "Welcome to our school then! I'm Hyunjin. What's your name?" Hyunjin asked with a smile as he kept stretching his arms.
"... Felix. Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too! Is it your first year?''
"Uh yeah.'' Felix said, nodding.
"Then that guy over there will be Minho-hyung to you!" Hyunjin responded with a chuckle, pointing at Minho.
Said hyung who was watching from a relatively small distance, barely managed to see a smile creep onto Felix's lips. Hyunjin, despite being an introvert, was good at this meeting people thing.
Minho believed that he himself usually came off as being too demanding or relatively intimidating. Especially compared to Hyunjin who also looked intimidating but always managed to look more welcoming as soon as he smiled with his eyes closed and all his features turned into thin lines.
"Are you hyung too Hyunjin-ssi?"
"I mean... We are the same year but I was born in March."
"Okay Hyunjin-hyung! You're a bit older than me." Felix said with a chuckle as Hyunjin turned his body towards Minho's direction.
"Wanna stretch with us over there?"
Felix seemed taken aback by the hospitality. "Will your friend be okay with me intruding?" the blond asked, flabbergasted. "It's not an intrusion if I'm inviting you right? And I wouldn't have invited you if it was an intrusion.'' Hyunjin said with a chuckle. After a moment of hesitation, Felix decided against objecting "If you say so hyung, I would love to stretch with you guys."
Minho could've sworn he saw the kid almost flap his hands. He kept watching as the duo approached him.
"Minho, this is Felix. He is a first year student and he's going to be stretching with us from now on."
Minho gave a soft smile and offered his hand to the younger boy "Hi Felix. I'm Minho."
"Nice to meet you Minho-hyung and Hyunjin-hyung!" Felix said, excitement ringing in his voice.
They chit-chatted about their interests and gave each other more in depth introductions of themselves throughout the entire time that was given them to stretch.
After dance practice was over, they walked over to the changing room together. Felix had learned that Hyunjin and Minho were very close with 5 other guys from the same campus by the time the entire dance class process was over. Felix had also learned that Hyunjin loved Lana Del Rey and was interested in drawing, he had also learned that Minho had two? three? cats at home and really enjoyed watching anime.
They had many common interests and Felix was so glad Hyunjin had walked up to him. However, he couldn't tell why these two older boys were being so nice and friendly with him. Well Hyunjin was only 6 months older but he seemed mature so it felt like he was older? Felix didn't know and it didn't matter. Because what mattered was that they were so nice and welcoming. Not that he deserved such a sweet and hospitable treatment.
As they finally had to part ways to go to their separate classes, Felix had already given Minho his phone number and Minho had made the promise to add Felix to the group chat where he could meet the rest of the so-called stray kids. The group nickname had come from how Bang Chan, Seo Changbin and Minho, who were the ones that became friends first, were always so nice and welcoming to the new kids on campus. As much as Minho looked intimidating, he was actually really caring, Bang Chan was generally affectionate and sweet and Changbin, despite looking tough, was a huge softie who listened to girl groups and stuff. Felix liked that fact. The blond was excited to make seven new friends all at once. He was a bit nervous to be a burden later on, but he just decided that he would think about that once the time came.

Felix felt his brain get fuzzy at the last text sent by Bang Chan-hyung. It was so caring, so patient, so welcoming, so soft. All things he couldn't bring himself to believe that he deserved. He took a moment to calm down and started typing out.

As Felix kept rambling on how cool everyone was and how happy he was to meet them, all Minho could do was to replay the moment in his head. The moment where Felix almost flapped his hands during the process of the dance line meeting. He was so glad that Felix was happy to be befriended by the seven but why would his initial response be to suppress the physical consequences of his emotions? Minho thought Felix was interesting. Not in a bad way but he was interesting for sure...
