Whoever this other person is, Hitoshi wants to know.

Chapter 1: Hitoshi gets his Face Pummeled

Chapter Text

Hitoshi had been training with Aizawa sensei for just under five months now, he had already been transferred to Class 1-A. According to Aizawa sensei his transfer got moved up because of some pervert kid getting expelled. Apparently Aizawa had been meaning to expel him for a while, but with all the villain attacks that have happened this semester he never got around to it. Either way, Hitoshi was grateful, was it bad that he was happy another person had to suffer for his success? Most definitely.

Hitoshi had just arrived at his private lessons with Aizawa sensei and was about to go get changed into his gym uniform, per usual routine, when he overheard Aizawa sensei on the phone.

“No, Problem Child, how many times do I need to tell you that it is not acceptable to use your training to sneak up on people?” Aizawa sensei asked, his voice dripping with exasperation. Aizawa sensei paused a bit, letting the person on the other end of the line speak.

“I don’t care if he’s really annoying, you scare the shit out of people.” Aizawa spoke up again, letting out a sigh at the end. Another pause, “Yes Problem Child……Yeah…..See you next week.”

After Aizawa hung up the phone, Hitoshi quickly remembered that it was rude to listen into other people’s conversations. Hitoshi was booking it toward the locker rooms at this point, hoping that Aizawa hadn’t seen him eavesdropping on his conversation.

After Hitoshi was changed, he walked out to the training area. Today they were doing capture weapon practice. Hitoshi was learning to use Aizawa’s capture scarf, because of his quirk, he didn’t have anyways to use that to his physical advantage, so Aizawa sensei had said it would be best for him to learn to use a long ranged weapon.

Learning the thing was hard, it was like it had a mind of its own. Everytime he directed it to move one way, it just spun and flipped the other. Aizawa sensei has been saying he’s been doing better, but it was hard to feel like that when he watches him masterfully maneuver it perfectly, as if it was nothing. Hitoshi got tangled up in it for the fifth time today.

Aizawa sensei sighed fondly, “Stop struggling Shinsou, you’re only making it worse.” With a smirk, Aizawa sensei made his way over to untangle him, muttering something like, “Just like Problem Child.”

Hitoshi decided not to question it as he got up to try again. This time, he tried to get in his best stance, he was just trying to get the scarf to grip onto the tree in front of him as a basic first step.

This time he did it. The capture weapon wrapped around the tree, almost exactly like Aizawa sensei had shown him. Hitoshi thought he had finally done it, but he forgot one piece of information. He was tied to the capture weapon too. All too quickly, his body came rushing down as the kinetic energy rebound yanked him down, his face coming in contact with the dry dirt. Vaguely, he heard Aizawa sensei snicker from somewhere behind him.

“It’s not funny!” Hitoshi said, slurred. Spitting out a clump of dirt from his mouth, he said again, “It’s not!”

“Okay, whatever you say.” Aizawa sensei responded with a knowing grin. Then, he heard Aizawa sensei whisper under his breath, “Problem Child, you would be cackling.”

Hitoshi and Aizawa had gotten in the habit of sending each other stupid cat memes every once and a while, this time, Aizawa had sent a particularly funny one saying it was from “One of his students.” While Hitoshi had no doubt it was from one of his students, he couldn’t help but wonder who? No one else in Class 1-A had Aizawa sensei’s number to his knowledge. Hell, they were all surprised when Aizawa sensei had shown an interest in having sugar in his coffee, they clearly didn’t know him all that well, forget having his phone number.

Hitoshi has been hearing mutterings of this, “Problem Child” but who is it? That’s what Hitoshi just can’t figure out, he thinks it may be a member of Class 1-A, but that’s the problem. No one in that class is even close enough to Aizawa sensei to even have his number! Hitoshi is going to drive himself mad if he doesn’t stop now.

The weeks go by and Hitoshi continues to hear whispers of “Problem Child”. One day, he just has to ask.

“Sensei?”

Aizawa sensei raises an eyebrow, “Yes Shinsou?”

“Who is this ‘Problem Child”? I’ve been hearing you talk about him.” Hitoshi asks, tone filled with suspicion. Aizawa sensei just smirks.

“One of my other personal students.”

“Oh, have I met him?”

Aizawa sensei laughs, actually laughs at that. “No.”

“Is he good?”

“Yes, you’re not ready for him yet. Are you done playing this one-sided twenty one questions game with me?”

“Almost,” Hitoshi grins. “How good?”

“Have you seen Stain, the hero killer?”

And Hitoshi gulps, “That good?!”

Aizawa nods.

Hitoshi is actually scared. Aizawa sensei had said that his other personal student was as good as the Hero Killer! And he said that he wasn’t ready for him yet. Implying that someday he will have to fight this person. Kill him now, this will only end one way.

Hitoshi has asked a couple more questions about the mystery student and all he found out was that the guy uses blades. The guy was also apparently pretty good at analysis and he had based his fighting style off of Stain’s. He was quick, agile, and flexible. That was it, no name, no description of his appearance, nada.

At some point Hitoshi gave up on getting anymore out of Aizawa sensei. He had only repeated the exact same thing he said last time. So he moved on to someone else, Yamada sensei. It turns out that the voice hero was told to be all hush hush about it by Aizawa sensei, when he was asked about it, his face went pale, the other student was something else, wasn’t he? This was so stupid! When could he get anymore information on this guy?

The next day of school at lunch, he tried asking if anyone had Aizawa sensei’s phone number under the guise of needing it to see if he could schedule an extra lesson with him. Of course, Hitoshi already had Aizawa sensei’s phone number, but he needed to see if anyone else happened to have it, because they would be one of his top candidates for this mystery student.

The only people that had it were Iida and Yaoyorozu, but he really wasn’t surprised that they both had it, they were the class president and vice president. Hitoshi also ruled them out because Yaororozu was female presenting, Aizawa sensei had used he/him pronouns for the mystery student. Yaororozu introduced herself with she/her pronouns when he met her, which was fairly recently.  He also ruled Iida out, Aizawa sensei had said the the student was fast, agile, and flexible. Iida may be fast but he was definitely not flexible.

That meant the entirety of Class 1-A wasn’t the mystery student. Could he be in Class 1-B?
