Work Text:
I try to tell you:
I don't believe you.
Not a single word you say,
nothing that you could ever say.
It's all lies,
it can only ever be lies.
Why would you tell the truth?
Why wouldn't you obscure said truth?
There's no benefit to any of it, I know.
There's not a single reason for it, you know.
A lie can do much more,
a truth can't even get you more.
Still, I find it in myself to hate it.
Still, it's not that hard to realise it.
Even as the words you spill aren't real,
even when you tell me that it has to be real.
Leaving it and you is hard.
Leaving is the best decision I've made, even as it's hard.
The look on your face is not one that I get to see.
The wish isn't even there; to see.
I hope I never see you again.
I hope I never hear you again.
You and your smiles,
you and your lies.
