This all feels so familiar.
The way the shadows spill onto the ground,
the way the leaves fall from the trees,
the way the sound of my footsteps echoes.
So familiar,
so inexplicably familiar.
I can’t remember why, though.
I’ve never been here before.
I’ve never been anywhere before, really.
Somehow thought, I know that
this isn’t right.
I should remember more, shouldn’t I?
I shouldn’t be here.
It doesn’t matter though.
For now, I’ll listen to the water trickle nearby,
a consistent sound.
It’s almost soothing.
It would be soothing if I didn’t almost remember,
what happened here.
I don’t though.
So why does it matter?
Why do I worry?
Over something that I don’t even remember,
something that I’m not sure ever happened?
Move on, I move on.
Maybe something will happen,
within these familiar lands.
Maybe I’ll remember something.
I know I won’t.
