"Watch out!"

The warning came too late. Stinger noticed just too late to be able to dodge the weapon being swung at him by a governor. It hit him in the chest and sent him flying backwards. He was stopped by smashing into a wall and collapsed to the ground. His transformation came undone from the force. Everything hurt.

"Stinger!" Someone was in front of him almost immediately, blocking the governor from getting near.

Stinger tried to to get back to his feet, but was failing miserably. He couldn't get the strength to get back up. Every time he moved, pain shot through his entire body.

"Lucky, take Stinger and get out of here." Someone called. It was hard to tell who it was amidst the noise of the battle.

"Okyuu!"

Lucky grabbed Stinger and pulled him to his feet. Stinger gasped in pain at the movement he was being made to do. Lucky wrapped an arm firmly around his waist and started guiding him from the battle. Stinger was leaning heavily on Lucky, barely able to put one foot in front of the other.

Once in a better place, Lucky called his voyager and the two of them went back to the ship. They were the only two on board, the rest being busy with the fight below. Lucky took Stinger to the infirmary and had him lay down on a bed.

"I'm gonna need to take off your shirt to see the damage." Lucky said as he grabbed a first aid kit.

Stinger went oddly silent. He was grabbing tightly onto his shirt and his eyes were filled with fear.

"I'm fine... I can do it myself. Go back." Stinger said.

He tried to sit up, but let out another gasp and quickly abandoned the idea. It hurt too much to move.

"You can't get up. How are you going to handle this? Come on. Let me help." Lucky placed a hand on Stinger's shoulder. "What's so strange? It's not like you all haven't seen me without a shirt on cause of an injury."

Stinger refused to meet his gaze. "I just... don't want to."

"Stinger, you need to get your wound treated. There's blood on your shirt. Do you really want to stay in that?" Lucky persisted. "Come on. I'm your boyfriend for the love of the galaxy. Why are you so scared?"

Stinger nervously fiddled with his shirt. "I... there's just... a reason I can't say."

Lucky sighed. "Stop being so stubborn for once and let me help."

Before Stinger could protest again, Lucky had grabbed him and pulled him into a sitting position. He easily slid off his jacket and tossed it on a chair nearby. Stinger tried to shy away as Lucky approached again to try and take off his shirt.

"Stinger. Please." Lucky pleaded. "Just tell me what's wrong?"

"I can't." Stinger replied. "Just let it go."

"Stinger." Lucky leaned over the bed to get eye to eye with him. "You are never this stubborn for something like this. What is wrong? You need to get your wound treated."

"Fine..." Stinger gave up. He closed his eyes and waited.

Lucky let out another sigh and then slowly lifted off Stinger's shirt. There was a silence that followed. Stinger didn't want to open his eyes. He didn't want to see how Lucky was looking at him. He had never wanted anyone to know about this.

"What's with these scars?" Lucky asked, a finger tracing the scars running horizontal on Stinger's chest.

Stinger didn't want to reply, but forced out a response. He couldn't hide it now. "I... I'm trans. I... had my breasts removed."

"Oh..." Lucky said. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I... don't you think I'm a freak?" Stinger finally opened his eyes to look.

Lucky tilted his head to the side in confusion. "A freak? Why would I think that? I'm glad you got the ability to be more comfortable as yourself."

Stinger stared at Lucky with wide eyes and then the tears started. Lucky panicked at the sight and instinctively wrapped his arms around Stinger.

"Everyone that's ever found out has always hated me..." Stinger whispered as he returned the hug, albeit awkwardly as movement still hurt a lot.

"Well, fuck them." Lucky grumbled. "There's no reason for anyone to hate you for this."

"Lucky..."

"Now, can I take a look at your wound?" Lucky pulled back.

Stinger nodded. He watched as Lucky examined the cut on his chest. Thankfully, it didn't seem too deep and had long stopped bleeding. Lucky cleaned it, trying his best to make it painless, but Stinger still let out some gasps and whines as he cleaned it.

Soon enough, he was bandaging the wound. That was also quite painful as Stinger had a bruise on his back from where he hit the wall earlier. The pressure on the bruise was not nice, but there was nowhere else to put the bandages. He would have to just deal with it. He was given some pain medication to try and help him.

"Can I... have something to cover myself with?" Stinger asked once Lucky was done. "I... don't want anyone to walk in and see this before I'm ready to tell them."

"Sure. I'll go grab you a new shirt. Be right back." Lucky agreed.

"Thank you..." Stinger whispered.

Lucky was back within a minute with a new shirt and helped Stinger put it on. Stinger laid back down and stared at the ceiling. His anxiety was slowly getting back to normal. This had been something he had not been prepared to deal with. At least Lucky had taken it a lot better than he had thought possible.

Lucky took a seat on the bed. "You okay? Sorry I forced you to out yourself to me."

"I was naive to think that this wasn't going to happen before I told anyone." Stinger replied. "I should've known better."

"I'm sure everyone will be supportive when you do finally tell them." Lucky said. "I don't see anyone here being the type to hate someone for this."

"I... hope so. I'm just... scared. After being rejected so many times I... I don't like putting myself in a vulnerable position anymore." Stinger mumbled.

Lucky scooted closer to him and wrapped an arm around Stinger's shoulder. "I'm sorry you've been treated so poorly."

Stinger rested his head against Lucky's shoulder. "I can't say I completely blame them for not liking me. A lot of lifeforms just don't really understand what it's like."

"Still doesn't give them an excuse to be an asshole to you." Lucky stated.

Stinger cracked a smile. "You're going to punch someone if they mistreat me. I can see it already."

"They deserve it if they pick on you for being happy." Lucky huffed. "Once you tell the others I'm sure they'll do the same. No one messes with one of our family members."

"I'm glad to be in a loving, albeit weird, family." Stinger replied.

"Do you need anything else? I think everyone is coming back." Lucky asked as they heard noise from elsewhere on the ship.

"Just wanna sleep... the pain meds are making me tired." Stinger mumbled, moving in closer to Lucky's side.

Lucky kissed his on the head. "Then get some rest. I'll answer any questions they have about your condition."

"Thanks..."
