Holy Reaction to a Musical, Batman!

Summary:

“Note to self, don’t piss off Musical Batman,” Duke mutters to himself. “He will shoot you down for accidentally stealing one dollar.”

“B, what about his loving wife Belinda?” Steph asks. “You clearly weren’t thinking of her when you brutally shot down that guy!”

“Poor Belinda,” Cass agrees, shaking her head disappointedly.

Bruce frowns at the screen of Tim’s tv. “Forgive me Belinda for…”

“Brutally shooting down,” Tim supplies, grinning at his father’s misfortune.

“Brutally shooting down your partner.” Bruce grimaces.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The second time it happens is a lot less jarring than the first time, and there are a lot less people around.

Tim is dozing on his couch post-patrol when movement out of the corner of his eye catches his attention. He turns, expecting to see an intruder of some kind, but instead is faced with the rippling surface of his glass coffee table.

Slowly, very slowly, a thumb drive makes its way to the top of the table and all at once the rippling stops. If Tim hadn’t seen it’s arrival he would have thought it had been there for a long time, with the way it blends in so well with his laptop and mess of case files.

Like the CD that had come out of the Wayne Manor dining table roughly two months ago, the thumb drive is not labeled, and comes with no notes to explain what it is doing there in the first place.

Brushing several papers aside, Tim grabs his laptop and slides the thumb drive into the slot on the side, praying that this isn’t a plot to hack into his files. Humming to himself as he waits for the single file the thumb drive contains to load, Tim wonders why there was a thumb drive instead of a disc in the first place.

Maybe today's movie is shorter? Or somehow the universe chose to send him a thumb drive knowing it would be preferred for his laptop?

The title of the file finally loads in and Tim can feel his jaw dropping. Holy shit he has got to call everyone .

And call everyone he does. Half an hour later his laptop is connected to his television, which isn’t nearly the size of the one in the theater room, but is still way too large for the rundown area his apartment is in.

His living room is now hosting seven very tired vigilantes, and an English butler, all of whom raced over as fast as they could after receiving Tim’s very ominous “emergency movie night come here” text at such an ungodly hour of the night.

Tim is sitting in the center of the couch, which, despite its average size, has also managed to hold Bruce, Dick, Jason, and Damien. Cass is sitting on the floor, head leaning against Bruce’s legs, using a pillow as a cushion. Steph has joined Cass on the floor, leaving Alfred and Duke with Tim’s armchairs.

At some point somebody must have raided his closet for blankets, because Jason is settling under a Wonder Woman blanket Tim knows usually resides on the top shelf.

Dick surveys the room, satisfied with so many of his family members sitting in the same room, then turns to Tim. “No Babs?”

Tim shakes his head, “I sent her the file so she can watch it when she has time. My neighborhood is bad enough in the day, can you imagine trying to wheel yourself around here at night?”

“Speaking of a file,” Jason says, turning to join their conversation, “care to tell us exactly what this emergency movie is?”

“Well,” Tim grins, something mischievous in it, “do you remember when that disc appeared at dinner? And we all got to watch that crazy Lego movie?”

There are various nods around the room, and the air turns excited as everyone realizes they might be watching yet another crazy film showcasing an alternate universe to their own.

“Sit back, relax, and enjoy Holy Musical, B@man! ” Tim leans down to his laptop as he speaks, pressing play on his laptop as he says the title of their entertainment for the night.
