[Transcript: So, the other day, I got onto a bizarre side of Tiktok, and I had to show it to you. It’s all TikTokers trying to identify Chat Noir and Ladybug which are the superheroes of Paris if you guys aren’t aware. Chat Noir has a costume like a black cat and can, like, destroy stuff while Ladybug looks like…a ladybug and has a yo-yo? Don’t ask me, the French translations just confuse me even more. But, let me just show you a TikTok.

So, if you know anything about Lana Condor, you will know how far-fetched it is, but let me let her explain.

If you don’t know, Lana Condor is an actress most famous for her starring role in To All of the Boys I’ve Loved Before. As she said, she’s American. She doesn’t even speak French! But, people believe steadfastly in this.

For the uninitiated, “lb” means ladybug, “cn” means chat noir, cosmo means Cosmocat which is the name for Chat Noir’s spacesuit, and Astro is Astrobug—the name for Ladybug’s spacesuit. Yes, you heard that right. These two have gone into space.
Also, they’re referencing the time when Ladybug and Chat Noir showed up in New York City, funnily enough right in time for French-American week. Shout out to our favorite fighting Frenchman!
But, that was actually a tame theory, rooted in more evidence than others. There’s ones where they just take pictures of anyone in Paris who possibly looks like them. Let’s take a look…

Ladyblogger: [laughter] I don’t think I really do that.

Ladyblogger: Like who?
Interviewer: Lana Candor.
Ladyblogger: She’s American! No, that makes no sense.
Interviewer: Okay, well, what about Adrien Agreste?

Interviewer: The internet doesn’t seem to think so.

Ladyblogger: Some part of me says yes. The journalistic part. But, overall, I think they deserve to keep their masks on. I’ve talked with Ladybug before—

Ladyblogger: Yeah, usually right before or after she shows up to fight an akuma. I’ve never had my phone recording.
Interviewer: Bummer.
Ladyblogger: Yeah. So, I feel like their job would just be too hard if masks were revealed. Think about it. Akumas target emotionally vulnerable people right? If everyone knew who Ladybug and Chat Noir were, it would be that much easier for them to be targeted.
Interviewer: That makes sense. But, I’m sure you’ve heard this question: what if they turn on Paris?
Ladyblogger: I have heard it before. A lot. Ultimately, I think we have to put some trust in them that they’re just not going to do that. They save us almost every day so I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Also, we can’t give them reason to. So, no harassing them for identities or the like. I’m talking to you, Tiktok!
