Chapter Text
Sword
-Right shoulder pain and soreness. He trains too much, and his shoulder is experiencing the Consequences.
-I also think his growth is stunted because of how short his horns are. He's just a little bit shorter and weaker than the other demons.
-He has a strong immune system (perks of being mentored by Darkheart), but whenever a bug manages to hit him, he is taken out of commission for at least a week.
Skateboard
-Asthma. His lungs are just weak in general. His voice is naturally raspy because of this. He has to clear his throat a lot when he's talking so he doesn't sound like a phlegm gremlin.
-He has to wring out his hands a lot or else they will lock up and it will hurt like a bitch to move them. Thankfully, his gear isn't very wrist intensive.
-He has restless leg syndrome. He can't sleep a lot of the time because his leg won't stop bouncing and being achy.
Katana
-I mentioned these in a different post but. He has facial scarring (burn marks) over the left side of his face. It hurts for him to smile and, with his mask on, he's just gotten used to Not doing that. It's impossible to tell whether or not he's happy, even with the mask off.
-He is deaf in his left ear. It was injured in some sort of incident during his childhood and has not recovered since.
Banhammer
-The blindfold is partially for his own comfort. If he doesn't wear it for too long, he gets a migraine from all of the light outside. His house it lit with nothing but candles and an occasional flashlight when he needs to look for something.
-He is like...COVERED in scars. He gets chronic pain in the worst places at the worst moments. If he stands up? Pain and suffering. If he goes to grab something? Pain and suffering. If he needs to productive today? The curse prevails.
-He is lactose intolerant. He drinks milk anyways because he likes the texture of it and can put good things like chocolate in it.
Rocket
-Canonically has a prosthetic for his right arm and left leg. He still gets phantom limb pain and nightmares about it. Zuka and a close friend are the only ones that he's opened up to about it.
-He needs glasses but is too stubborn to admit it. He says his visor works just fine and then he runs straight into a brick wall. Please get this guy some help.
-His ears don't work very well because of how much time he spends around things that explode. He overcompensates by pretending to not be listening whenever he can't hear someone.
-He gets that thing where you stand up too quickly and suddenly feel very lightheaded.
-Just. Very poor body cognition in general. He stays up for two days and eats breakfast at 2 pm and hasn't showered in a week and then wonders why he feels like shit. Zuka tries to support him, but it's difficult with how stubborn and clueless he is.
Slingshot
-He has an underbite. His tongue naturally sticks out of his mouth, and he finds it very annoying. He was bullied for this as a child. He tries to play it off as a 'haha I look so goofy' thing, but the mask quickly breaks around his close friends.
-He has a heart murmur. It doesn't affect him too much these days, but he spent a lot of his early childhood in the hospital. Sometimes he feels an off palpitation and goes 'oh god not this thing again'.
-There are a lot of weird and ultraspecific things he is allergic to. He always carries an epipen on him, just in case.
Hyperlaser
-Canonically has facial scarring and broken horns. Because of my headcanon for how horns work (will delve into on another day), this means he has piss poor circulation. His hands and feet are always cold to the touch.
-Princess acts as a service animal to him. She tells him when he needs to use a cane (back & knee pain), when he isn't getting enough blood flow in his limbs, and when he needs to use his inhaler. He would probably be dead by now if it wasn't for her.
-He has asthma. His lungs have been permanently damaged from the accident he was in that broke his horns. He has a constant, gravelly cough, and gets pneumonia very frequently.
Shuriken
-His stomach is very sensitive. He eats very light meals that are low in fiber and fat because of this. A lot of people have commented on the way he eats and how skinny he is, but he's quick to reassure them that he's not starving himself.
-He has red green colorblindness. For the longest time, he thought his horn color was a bright shade of red. He thought his sister's horns were a light orangish color.
-He has had his appendix and tonsils removed. He is the king of random mostly irrelevant organs malfunctioning and needing to be taken out.
Scythe
-Canonically has a prosthetic right arm and right eye, and a scar over her left eye. Her arm can extend into a pole and double as a cane (her vision sucks even with the enhancement + POTS). She didn't ask for that to be a feature, but Medkit added it anyways because 1) they have experience with missing eyes and 2) it sounded useful.
-She has POTS. She acts like it's not a big deal and isn't going to slow her down or anything, but secretly really appreciates it when someone worries over her just. Passing out sometimes.
-She ends up accidentally biting her lips or cheeks a lot while eating because of her large fangs. There are numerous tiny little scars on the inside of her mouth. Her sense of taste has been diminished somewhat because of this.
Medkit
-They are canonically missing a right eye. The eye has painful scar tissue around it. This scar extenders down to their right shoulder and part of their neck. It makes it awkward to carry their gear around on one arm, as it is a pretty heavy item. They have a permanent slouch because of this.
-They experience moderate-severe wrist pain on a daily basis. They have somehow convinced themself that this is a normal thing to experience and refuse to seek help about it. The only reason they have compression gloves is because Subspace wouldn't shut up about it until they got some. They don't even use them frequently.
-They are very sensitive to changes in temperature. They do their commissions while wrapped up in a blanket and wearing a sweater. They walk into a hottish area and immediately get afflicted with the Horrors.
Boombox
Oh boy do I have headcanons for him. I'm gonna hold myself back so I don't spoil my upcoming series (encore au if you're interested- be mindful of the tags! there's gonna be some serious shit in there! shameless promo btw).
-He has nerve damage to some extent. His hands have a constant, light tremor to them. He gets headaches and migraines a lot. Sometimes he twitches without meaning to. Sometimes his limbs feel like they're burning when they touch something. He is constantly in and out of the hospital trying to find some sort of solution to this.
-He gets really bad period cramps and bleeds heavily during it. They also make him feel immense amounts of dysphoria. He can try to push through it, but the period almost always wins. Despite this, he doesn't want to go on testosterone to get rid of them. (I am projecting yet again)
Subspace
-He is canonically rotting from the inside, is heavily damaged on his right arm, and is missing his right eye. He has the means to fix his rot but chooses not to. It's the only thing he has left of Medkit. He experiences enough chronic pain in this area alone to put everyone else in this post to shame. It's become a crucial part of his identity. He wouldn't be the same person without it.
-He spends a lot of his lazier days hooked up to a nasal tube he fills with minute doses of deadly poison. This makes him pretty much immune to being poisoned, but completely destroys his lungs and circulatory system in the process. He likes to perform little experiments on himself that make him feel like shit afterwards.
-On days where the pain is very bad, he has his Biografts carry him around and fetch items he requests. They're like fucked up service animals.
Vine Staff
-Her arm is parasitic in nature. It derives sustenance and hydration from her in order to stay healthy. She has to eat a lot of snacks and drink a lot of water to keep up with it. Someone once made a joke that she was 'eating for two' and she (rightfully) bitch slapped them for it.
-She has chronic fatigue and tends to burn herself out very easily. Sometimes, all she can do in a day is eat and sleep. Whenever she starts feeling like a horrible person for this, her brother makes sure to remind her that it's not something she can control.
-She has arthritis in her hips. She uses her staff as a cane and, on worse days, has a wheelchair to roll around in.
