Work Text:
Beomgyu was tired. And starting to feel a little unfair. The one day all of his boyfriends got a day off, of course he was swamped with work. He had planned to finish his commissions no matter what the night before, but minutes bled into hours and Beomgyu found himself stuck on one particular piece of a painting he didn’t know what to do with. After eating breakfast with all of them, he silently slithered back to his studio, conveying a small I’ll try to finish these as quickly as I can! He doubted he would even make it to starting his next commission by the time the day was over, but he dreamed. Determination at his helm and soft encouragement from his four boyfriends, he picked up the brush and began to paint.

Meanwhile, his four boyfriends sat on their couch, scrolling through Netflix and deciding what to watch while Beomgyu was working.
“Beomgyu-hyung works so hard. I hope he gets a break soon too.” Taehyun slightly pouted as he leaned his head against Kai’s shoulder.
“Yeah. Ever since the auction people have been wanting to buy Beomgyu’s pieces right and left. I would tease him about it but he already gets so bashful it feels wrong to.” Yeonjun continued, waving his head with a dismayed look on his face, each of his boyfriends smiling at the oldest silently.
“That’s true. I tried complimenting him the other day saying ‘you’ve really improved Beomgyu-hyung,’ but he was already that good from the beginning.” Kai continued, glint in his eye as he talked about the hybrid.
“I know…his talent is actually unbelievable. I just wish he could see it himself. Sure, the auction helped to boost his confidence, but I was talking about it with him the other day and he said he’s still not satisfied with where he’s at. It’s good that he’s determined to get better…but I wish he could see what we see in him.” Soobin deflated, worriedly leaned his head on Yeonjun’s shoulder.
“Yeah…” Kai thoughtfully spoke, before rubbing his fingers against Yeonjun’s and intertwining them.
They all sat silently for a moment, Netflix scrolling long forgotten. Yeonjun noticed the downtrodden expressions on his boyfriends’ faces, taking it upon himself to cheer them up. He silently racked his brain for something funny to share to cheer them up.
“Heh…remember the time Beomgyu first started following us around the house, guys? He was so cute, just like a little chick following their mother. I was really surprised when he latched onto me first. He was so cute I pinched his cheeks so tightly. I was so happy that day.” Yeonjun playfully reminisced, smiling at his memory of Beomgyu almost a year ago following him around cutely.
Yeonjun transported himself back to his memory from a year ago, fondly thinking back on it.
They all sat around their kitchen table, eating their breakfast with silent smiles on their faces. After they finished their breakfast together, they all went their separate ways to engage in their own hobbies to de-stress from their week. Beomgyu silently fiddled with his fingers, looking around to everyone, wondering if he could just follow one of them instead, seeing as he had no such ‘hobbies’ to engage in.
He ultimately made the snap-minute decision to follow his Yeonjun-hyung, figuring he’d be the least upset if Beomgyu silently followed him. He shyly grabbed onto the end of Yeonjun’s blue flannel, the fashion designer turning around silently with a surprised expression on his face.
“Can I…follow you Yeonjun-hyung?” He asked shyly, cheeks red and eyes darting between his Yeonjun-hyung’s face and the end of his shirt.
The older’s eyes instantly widened, light flooding his pupils as his lips curled into an excited smile. He pinched the hybrid’s cheeks, Beomgyu’s nose scrunching up at the foreign feeling.
“Of course! So, I was planning on shooting this thing called a ‘Tiktok challenge’...do you know what that is? Ah, it doesn’t matter. I can teach you easily enough!” Yeonjun shook his head, an overly excited tone in his voice as he led the hybrid to his room upstairs.
Yeonjun cherished that memory very fondly. The first time Beomgyu made the initiative to reach out to his Yeonjun-hyung. Even if he was loud, and reckless, and just plain stupid sometimes, Yeonjun loved Beomgyu’s every feature, and he’d carry that crux on his back until the day he died.

The four boyfriends laughed softly as they fondly remembered their memories with their hybrid. They really loved him so much.
“Or–– remember that time when Beomgyu-hyung woke up from his nap that one time and scrubbed his face like a cat? The way his nose scrunched up was so cute!” Taehyun continued, his smile soft.
Taehyun had just returned from work and was ready for some well-deserved dinner when he noticed Beomgyu walk downstairs. Beomgyu tiredly walked down from his room, a neutral expression on his face as he focused on walking silently. Taehyun silently smiled, eye bags decreasing as his heart felt refreshed.
The hybrid sat at their kitchen table in a sort of tired haze, silently pouting as he waited for their dinner to be served. Kai silently continued to stare at him with a smile on his face. The hybrid slightly sighed out, trying to wake himself up. He lifted his fingers up to his cheeks, rubbing them softly as his nose scrunched up.
Taehyun’s eyes instantly widened, cheeks turning red as his heart beat in his ears and butterflies formed in his stomach. His eyes lit up, a love-struck expression on his face as he continued to stare at the hybrid. Beomgyu finished rubbing the sleep out of his face, yawning silently to cap it off.
Taehyun’s smile instantly softened, the younger boy staring at the hybrid silently.
Taehyun smiled widely as the memory flashed through his mind. That image came to his mind whenever he was feeling down, the second youngest of the group was instantly cheered up by it. He always thought the boy’s cat-like features were adorable.

The next one to reminisce on his memories with Beomgyu was Soobin.
“Haha…remember that time I got that big package of supplies delivered here instead of at my bakery? And Beomgyu was so intrigued and couldn’t keep his eyes off of it? And how in the end we just let him have the box and packed my stuff into other things to carry? That was so adorable. He really is more like a cat than he thinks he is.” Soobin smiled fondly at the memory, glint in his eye.
His mind instantly brought him back in time to that day, a warm smile on his face.
A delivery truck pulled up to their house as Soobin walked to their front door, Soobin taking the large box from the delivery man’s hands before unlocking the door with his keys.
He furrowed his eyebrows as he wondered who it was for, looking at the name on the box before silently widening his eyes. He certainly didn’t remember ordering anything lately, especially something this big. That’s when it clicked. This was supposed to be shipped to his bakery, it was his supplies for the next two weeks. He sighed out, realizing he’d need to take it with him tomorrow morning when he set up shop. He set the box down next to their front entryway, before slipping his shoes off and walking toward their kitchen. Beomgyu instantly greeted Soobin, walking in front of him and kissing him on the lips silently. Soobin easily kissed back, lips curling into a smile as he closed his eyes.
“Hi, love. How was your day?” Soobin spoke, a wide smile on his face as he faced the hybrid.
“Good. I still have some work to finish up. How about you?” Beomgyu answered easily, with a warm smile on his face as he spoke to the older.
“Nothing too bad. I just have to get to work earlier than usual tomorrow to unpack that box over there.” Soobin pointed his head over to the box, Beomgyu looking over with wide eyes.
The hybrid instantly found himself walking over to the box, bending down to look at it curiously.
“Can I touch it, Soobin-hyung?” He yelled, the older still in the kitchen.
“Sure, just don’t open it. I don’t want to lose anything in there.” Soobin spoke as he cut open their chicken for dinner, eyes carefully trained on the knife.
Beomgyu turned back to the box, excitement coursing through him as he touched the rough cardboard of the box. His pupils instantly widened, a smile on his face as he began to tap on the box curiously. When his other boyfriends started to arrive home as well, the hybrid quit lightly tugging with the box in favor of spending more time with them. They all did not fail to notice his mischievous glances to the box during dinner and their time together, Soobin smiling gently each time at the hybrid.
“Taehyun, do you still have those disposable bags in your room? If so, can you get them for me?”
“Sure, hyung.” Taehyun walked to his room from their living room, easy smile on his face. He soon returned with what looked like hundreds of plastic bags in his arms, the same smile on his face.
Soobin brought the box to the middle of their living room, before cutting it open silently and looking at Beomgyu. The hybrid looked at him confusedly, before his pupils widened as he stared at the box once more. Soobin began unpacking the box of all of its supplies, putting them in the disposable bags Taehyun brought down. The others soon joined him, packing the supplies into disposable bags.
“Here, Beomgyu. Now you can have the box all you want.” Soobin smiled, pushing the box forward into Beomgyu’s star-littered eyes.
“Really? All I want?” Beomgyu smiled widely, like a child excited to play with a new toy.
“All you want. Go on.” Soobin urged the hybrid, Beomgyu looking in between the box and Soobin intermittently.
Beomgyu’s eyes lit up, smile widening as he brought the box closer to him. He immediately climbed into the box, smiling widely at his boyfriends as he peeked his head through the top, galaxy in his eyes.
Soobin smiled softly, chest bubbly as he gazed at the hybrid happily.
Soobin really loved that day more than anything. The cute smiles on Beomgyu’s face; the galaxy in his sky blue eyes; the hybrid’s perfect demeanor. Soobin loved every single feature about Beomgyu. Whether it was the physical or the mental characteristics of Beomgyu’s personality, there was no doubt Soobin would do anything to keep seeing such features.

The last one to reminisce on his memories with Beomgyu was Kai.
“I remember the time Beomgyu-hyung’s tail wrapped around me. It made my heart flutter so much I thought I would pass out.” Kai smiled, fondness in his tone as he remembered.
Kai felt a tickling and light feel graze his leg, the youngest of the group slightly flinching. He breathed in, opening his eyes suddenly. The tickling sensation rubbed against his leg once more. He tore the already receding blanket off of his legs, gazing at it silently.
There Beomgyu’s tail laid, wrapped around Kai’s right leg, the end tickling him as it fluttered back and forth.
Kai’s eyes silently widened, mouth falling ajar and cheeks turning red immediately.
Fuck was that hot. Blame Kai for being turned on so easily, but at the end of the day he loved his four boyfriends more than life itself.
Kai willed himself to calm down, lest he give himself to his youthful urges. Once he did, he found himself curling around his Beomgyu-hyung once more, sighing silently and closing his eyes once more. He soon drifted back off to sleep.
Kai was convinced he was in love with Beomgyu’s tail. They all were; but Kai was definitely the one who loved it touching him the most. If they had an award for ‘who loved Beomgyu’s tail the most’, Kai would definitely win. Not that it was a competition. Kai loved all of the physical features of his boyfriends, but there was no doubt he loved Beomgyu’s the most. He would continue to love it until his last breath.

Beomgyu silently set his paintbrush down, smiling to himself as he gazed at his finished commission. He checked his phone, notifications making it vibrate. It was 1 pm. Meaning he skipped lunch to work. He didn’t even know; he was so immersed in his new bout of inspiration for his painting he completely forgot about everything else.
He stretched his arms over his head, joints cracking in response. He turned around, standing up from his stool. He gazed at a sandwich on the floor with wide eyes, bending down to pick it up. Turkey and ham, his favorite. He didn’t even hear someone leave it earlier. Beomgyu smiled silently, opening the door to his studio and leaving with the sandwich plate in his hands.
His boyfriends immediately turned around, looking like deer caught in headlights. He gazed at them silently before smiling, tilting his head as he walked over to the couch.
“What? Do I have paint on my face?”
“N––no, Beomgyu-hyung, it’s nothing. Are you done for the day?” Kai asked the hybrid, warm smile on his face.
“For now. I’m gonna take a break before starting on my next one tonight.” Beomgyu sat on the floor, taking a bite out of his sandwich as he spoke.
“Well…I’m glad you’re taking a break. Come on, let’s watch Supernatural and destress for a while.” Soobin rubbed Beomgyu’s ears softly, the hybrid purring in response.
Beomgyu smiled widely, eating his sandwich silently as they clicked on the second to last episode of Supernatural on Netflix. Beomgyu sat happily with his boyfriends for the rest of the afternoon, enjoying each other’s company and savoring their moments together.
