Seonghwa blinked in the morning light, groaning as he shifted away slightly. He licked his chapped lips, eyes squinting awake, turning on his side to gaze at the body next to him. In came the view of his gorgeous husband. Seonghwa admired his face. Wispy eyelashes that dusted over the tops of his cheeks. Pink, pouty lips. Soft hair that shone in the golden rays of the early sun. Then the smell of coconut and vanilla washed over the area mixed with a sweet milky scent and Seonghwa's own dark cherry scent. Hongjoong was like his own personal ray of sunshine, a constant in his life. It's been eight years, but it still feels like yesterday when a shy Hongjoong asked to be his boyfriend out on the field of their old highschool, and three years since they got engaged and married. Seonghwa fell in love harder each day, which if he told himself from when he was about 10 that he would be marrying his best friend, he would have puked. But this was one of the best decisions Seonghwa has made in his 28 years of living. And now, Hongjoong carried a piece of both of them inside of his body, a pup of their own to be born into the world soon. Seonghwa could ask for nothing more, feeling like he won the lottery.
Seonghwa shuffled into a sitting position, resting his palm on his forehead briefly to brush the hair out of his eyes before swinging his legs over the side of the bed, slipping his feet into his slippers. He tiptoed lightly to the closet to pull out his robe before walking towards Hongjoong's side of the bed. Seonghwa once again absorbed Hongjoong's calm features as he slept, brushing some of the hair out of the younger's face, leaning down and kissing his temple softly before quietly leaving the room to get started on breakfast.
It was a cold day in January, the bite of winter fully blossoming as soft snow covered the terrain. The doctor said the baby was due late March, so the couple had a few months to go until they met their bundle of joy. Seonghwa went and put a vinyl record inside of the player before trotting to the refrigerator, deciding on what to make for the two of them. Seonghwa decided to use some of the kimchi he made a bit ago and to cook some omelets over some rice. He got to work, turning the stove on and spraying the pan down before cracking his eggs, then moving to wash the rice and put it in the cooker. He made Hongjoong's omelet first, adding some bacon and onion. (He may have even snuck a bit of peppers and spinach in there, only a minimal amount!) He then made his own, adding some cheese, spinach, and peppers, then sprinkling some salt and pepper on top of them.
He then checked on the rice, making sure it wasn't overcooked before plating the meal, humming along to the song softly. He also made some coffee for himself, adding a lot of creamer to his. While normally he would make some for Hongjoong, he ended up juicing some of the fruits they had since coffee was bad for the baby. He cut up the rest of the fruits for Hongjoong to eat before sitting the plates and cups on the table. He left the kitchen to go retrieve his husband, cracking the bedroom door open, his melted at the sight he was greeted with. His husband was still sound asleep, mouth agape as his arms loosely hugged around their pet cat, Bomi. Seonghwa cooed, stepping into the room. He pet Bomi behind her ears, smiling as she purred. He then leaned down to kiss Hongjoong's cheek.
"Baby, it's time to get up." He whispered softly, his deep voice smooth as ivory as his free hand caressed Hongjoong's shoulder blades. Hongjoong groaned, mumbling under his breath. "What was that, baby?" Seonghwa smiled, cocking a brow. "I said... 10 minutes..." Hongjoong mumbled a little louder, his voice raspier than usual due to just waking up.
"Breakfast is already done, Joongie. I made rice, omelets, kimchi, and fruit. I also made you some juice with your favorite fruits." Seonghwa kissed Hongjoong's jaw lightly, watching as the younger squirmed. "Okay, I'm coming." Hongjoong sighed, getting up with some assistance. He raised his arms up to stretch, jostling Bomi out of his hold. She meowed, rubbing on Seonghwa's leg, probably hungry as well. Hongjoong got up, putting his slippers on, giving Seonghwa a light kiss to the lips before grabbing his hand to go eat breakfast.
Once they arrived at the table, he filled Bomi's bowl, then pulled out Hongjoong's seat before pushing it in, pulling his own seat out to get ready to eat. As they ate over light conversation, 'I Only Have Eyes for You' by the Flamingos started playing on the vinyl, and Seonghwa eyed Hongjoong mischievously before getting up and pulling him out of his seat. "Seonghwa, our breakfast!" Hongjoong yelped, Seonghwa's arms wrapping around the younger's waist. "It'll be there when we're done, don't worry, baby." Seonghwa whispered into Hongjoong's ear, grasping his waist as he swayed them around their dining room, the glow of the sun illuminating them, Bomi joining in as she wove between their legs. Seonghwa nestled his nose against Hongjoong's scent gland, breathing in and lightly kissing it. Hongjoong sighed contently, hand snaking up to loosely tangle in Seonghwa's hair.
Seonghwa's hands moved to rub Hongjoong's protruding stomach, his scent spiking with happiness as he felt the warmth of his child. He kissed Hongjoong's neck, swaying slowly to the sweet song, eyes closed in peace. "I love you so much." Seonghwa whispered, teeth grazing Hongjoong's scent gland once again. The latter moaned lightly, eyes squeezing shut. "I love you more, my star." He blushed, the attention suddenly making him squirm. Seonghwa lightly turned Hongjoong's head with his finger on his chin, capturing his lips into a sweet kiss. He felt Hongjoong's eyes flutter close, long eyelashes tickling his skin as their lips moved together, Seonghwa kneading the skin of Hongjoong's waist.
He pulled away after a couple minutes, eyes never straying away from Hongjoong's bitten red lips. Hongjoong whined, big eyes looking up at Seonghwa. The scent in the air changed from sweet to sultry, and Seonghwa bit back a growl, tugging Hongjoong back to the bedroom.
Safe to say, breakfast was forgotten.

It was late morning when Seonghwa woke back up, groaning as he shifted once again from bed, a sleeping Hongjoong draped over his bare chest. He smiled, carding his fingers through Hongjoong's messy hair. He felt the beat of Hongjoong's heart against his warm skin, reveling in the feeling. But soon, he grew uncomfortable with the residue of bodily liquids from the morning's events, carefully slipping from Hongjoong's hold, resting a pillow behind his mate's head.
He walked to the bathroom, turning on the shower and stepping inside under the warm spray of the water. He sighed, the feeling welcome as he lathered soap onto his loofah, then beginning to bathe his body. The nice smell of the body wash soothed Seonghwa, as he then washed his hair, making sure he was cleaning it thoroughly, before rinsing himself off. He stepped out onto the fluffy bath mat, wrapping a soft tower over his lower body before stepping to the sink. He wiped the mirror off before grabbing his toothbrush to brush his teeth. The door opened and in waddled a naked Hongjoong, going towards the tub. Seonghwa cooed through a mouthful of toothpaste.
"Come help me, will you?" Hongjoong demanded. Well, it seems like someone was finally awake. Seonghwa spit out the toothpaste and rinsed his mouth with mouthwash before moving to help Hongjoong into the tub. He turned on the water, making sure it was a comfortable temperature. He grabbed some soothing bath bombs from the linen closet, taking off the plastic wrap on them before dropping them in. Hongjoong observed silently, yawning. Seonghwa then kissed the crown of the younger's head, his hands moving to rest on Hongjoong's shoulders.
"Lean forward for me, baby." He soothed, gently coaxing Hongjoong to lean forward so he could start massaging his back, kneading the knots in his spine.
Hongjoong moaned, visibly relaxing, shoulders slumping as he leaned into Seonghwa's touch. The hot water soothing his joints while Seonghwa massaged him felt like heaven. A relaxing scent came from Hongjoong in waves, and Seonghwa grinned brightly. He loved that scent, his inner alpha feeling proud that he is taking good care of his omega.
"Okay, okay. I need to actually wash my ass now." Hongjoong said reluctantly, not wanting to move away from the massage, but they still had things to do. Seonghwa hummed in agreement, helping Hongjoong wash his back and hair, massaging his scalp as well. The scent from the bath bombs seemed to lull Hongjoong into sleep, his eyelids fluttering every other minute.
"Not now, honey. We have to do our errands." Seonghwa rinsed the rest of the shampoo out of Hongjoong's hair before helping him out of the tub, grabbing the towel and wrapping it around Hongjoong's frame. He left the younger to finish in the bathroom, not wanting to dote too much, even though it was kind of his job to do so. He went to pick out their outfits, eyes scanning their closets. Lately, because of Hongjoong's growing stomach, the younger would like to wear stuff out of Seonghwa's clothes. He said he liked how big the size was and how it felt much more free than the maternity clothes he bought. He also liked it for Seonghwa's lingering scent, but he would not admit that out loud. (Even if they have known each other basically their whole lives.)
He settled for a simple outfit for himself, a black turtleneck and flowy wide legged trousers. He also picked out some dainty dangly earrings and rings to wear. He preferred to dress more feminine, which would be taboo in this society, but who did he care? He did not give a flying fuck about gender norms, and his loving husband did not give a damn either. It was because of Hongjoong that Seonghwa felt safe in his skin to express himself how he liked. His hair also grew to be long, touching the base of his neck. He quite liked it like this and had no plans on cutting it anytime soon.
He then went to pick out Hongjoong's outfit, a black sweater that fell off at the shoulders and a plain pair of washed blue jeans. He picked out some more bold pieces of jewelry for Hongjoong and a cute hat. Hongjoong's sense in fashion was a whole lot cooler than Seonghwa's, where he preferred more modern and classy, Hongjoong liked more of an edge. He smiled to himself at the choices, moving to style his hair at the vanity while Hongjoong stepped out of the shower. The younger glowed even more, freshly bathed and smelling sweeter than ambrosia. Seonghwa's mouth watered at the sight of his husband, wanting to take him to bed for a second time that day. Alas, some things just had to wait as he blowed Hongjoong a kiss from the mirror.
"You look so pretty, Hwa." Hongjoong said as he pulled his shirt over his head, brushing out the wrinkles. He then put his pants on, struggling a little more to bend over. "Thank you, baby. Don't worry, I'll help." Seonghwa rushed to get up, but Hongjoong put out a hand to stop him. "Seonghwa! I'm not an old man, I can do it." He grumbled, but he still had some trouble. Seonghwa smiled, walking over and kneeling by the foot of the bed. He pushed Hongjoong to sit down before taking his right foot in his hand, raising his leg to kiss the ankle before kissing up to his knee, then sliding the younger's foot into the pant hole. He did the same with the other leg, trailing kisses up Hongjoong's legs, the younger turning into mush under Seonghwa's gaze.
"You're so beautiful, darling." Seonghwa purred as he got back up, leaning in to kiss Hongjoong. The younger sighed, hands cradling Seonghwa's cheeks as Seonghwa bracketed Hongjoong's body. The taller's hands caressed the younger's thighs, smiling sweetly into the kiss. He then pulled away, his eyes lost in Hongjoong's needy gaze.
"Not now, baby. I'm not falling into your trap again. You had enough this morning." Seonghwa snickered, watching as Hongjoong pouted before getting off the bed as well. As Hongjoong's pregnancy increased, he seemed to get more and more needy for Seonghwa's touches on his body. Not that Seonghwa minded, he was more than happy to provide what his beautiful omega wanted.
"You're the one that put a baby in me." He muttered with a roll of the eyes, putting on his accessories and doing a twirl. "At least you pick good outfits." He laughed as Seonghwa hit him playfully.
They headed to the front door, saying goodbye to Bomi and put on their jackets before walking out. Seonghwa led them through the front door, wrapping his scarf around a bit more tightly at the crisp winter air. "Today's got a nip to it, that's for sure." He murmured, his breath coming out in a cloud of white. He held Hongjoong close as they walked to their car, opening the door for the younger before moving to the other side and sliding into the driver's seat. Turning on the car, he put on some music before driving out of the driveway.
They arrived at the store about 15 minutes later, Seonghwa helping Hongjoong step out. They walked up to the doors, the taller holding it open while Hongjoong waddled in. It was a baby store. They have come to do their last minute baby shopping for the preparation of the pup. Hongjoong's scent immediately spiked with interest, eyes widened in excitement as he eagerly browsed the aisles. Seonghwa loomed over him, watching his mate's every move.
"Hwa! Look!" Hongjoong gasped as he pointed to something, Seonghwa's head immediately snapping over. It was a little star swaddles! Seonghwa laughed heartily. "Why are you laughing! They're cute. And now I'll have two stars to wish on. '' Hongjoong pouted. Seonghwa cooed at the corny display of affection, kissing the crown of Hongjoong's head.
"They're very adorable, sweetheart. Let's put it in the cart. " Seonghwa grabbed the set, placing it in the cart before pushing it, following his husband around the store. They filled their cart with diapers, clothes, bottles, wipes, everything they needed for a newborn baby. They headed to the cash register, Seonghwa paying for them as he carried the bags back to the car. He placed the bags in the trunk before closing it, getting back inside the car.
"Anywhere else we need to stop, baby?" He spoke to Hongjoong as he glanced at the display screen, making sure it was safe to pull out (pun not intended) of the parking lot. He could practically hear the gears turning in his husband's head, waiting patiently for an answer.
"No, I think we're good." He chirped, getting comfortable in his seat. Seonghwa hummed as an answer, kneading Hongjoong's thigh softly. The drive home was peaceful, light chatter sounding the vehicle. Hongjoong started to groan, clutching his belly. "Seems like it's bedtime." He panted as the pup kicked inside of him. Seonghwa squeezed his thigh again in concern, glancing in Hongjoong's direction at a red light.
"You okay, baby?" Seonghwa whispered, pulling into the driveway. He put the car in park before stepping out and turning to the other side of the car, opening the passenger side door, running his hands over Hongjoong's face and belly. He checked his expression to make sure his love was okay.
"I'm fine, honey. Don't worry, okay? It's just them kicking." He looked down to his belly, rubbing it. Seonghwa sighed, leaning down to kiss his husband's stomach. "Don't give mommy too much trouble, okay?" He whispered to the bump, rubbing it soothingly. He helped Hongjoong out of the car and into the house. They kicked off their shoes and shed their jackets, heading upstairs. Seonghwa decided to take a quick shower before starting on dinner. It wasn't anything special, just a quick meal of the leftover rice, egg, and kimchi with some added meat.
After he left the shower and put on his pajamas, he went to the kitchen to make the meal. All he had to do was heat up the food in the pan and cook the beef. Once he plated the bulgogi, stir fried rice, and kimchi, he went to get Hongjoong.
"Hongjoong baby! Dinner is ready!" He called, waiting for the pitter patter of Hongjoong's feet down the stairs. Bomi was meowing at him, seems like she was hungry. He gave her some wet cat food, caressing her chin as she purred in content. He then pulled out the younger's chair before his own. He smiled at his husband who was dressed in one of Seonghwa's old shirts and a pair of plain shorts. The couple got to eating, Hongjoong groaning about how great it is, causing Seonghwa to blush.
The couple finished and Seonghwa washed the dishes, walking upstairs with Hongjoong to their room. They brushed their teeth before lying in bed. Seonghwa laid on his side, his fingers tracing shapes on Hongjoong's arm as the younger sang a sweet song to their pup. Seonghwa could cry, feeling fulfilled and utterly at peace. He kissed Hongjoong's forehead, moving to get under the sheets before Hongjoong gasped.
"Hwa," Hongjoong hesitated, cheeks heating up.
"Yes, baby?" He answered, hand hovering over the lamp switch.
"I want some ice cream." He batted his eyelashes at the older, feigning innocence.
Seonghwa sighed. How could he say no to that face? He got up and kissed Hongjoong once again. "Alright, my prince. I'll get you some ice cream. Any flavor requests?" He proposed, slipping his slippers on.
"...Mint choco..." Hongjoong hesitated again bashfully.
Seonghwa gasped. "But you hate mint choco!" He exclaimed, laughter echoing the walls of their bedroom.
"I know! But... I don't know! Just get it!" Hongjoong whined, looking seconds away from hurling a pillow at Seonghwa's head.
"Alright, baby, I'm going to get it now. You just stay here." He said, moving to the door to walk down the stairs and out the house.
The drive from the convenience store back to home wasn't too long, and he placed a portion of ice cream into a bowl for Hongjoong along with his favorite spoon. He headed back upstairs to their bedroom, announcing his presence with a hum.
"Here you are, my darling." He handed the bowl to Hongjoong. Seonghwa watched as Hongjoong stuffed the spoon in his mouth, a bit eager to be eating the ice cream he hated the most. Seonghwa swiped a drop of melted ice cream from the corner of Hongjoong's lip, licking his thumb after. "Mm, it's good!" He exclaimed, eyes widening. "Whatever, just don't come eating mine." Hongjoong hissed playfully, finishing the ice cream before settling the bowl on the nightstand.
Seonghwa moved down the bed, resting his hand on top of Hongjoong's that was on his swollen belly, moving both of their hands to rub over the area. "My sweet pup," Seonghwa sighed, kissing the warm skin, basking in Hongjoong's soft giggles. "I love you and your mommy so much. I can't wait to meet you." He kissed his tummy one more time before moving back into his spot, opening his arms for Hongjoong to slide into them.
"I love you so much." Seonghwa kissed Hongjoong's forehead gently, scenting his mate. Hongjoong purred, relaxed pheromones flowing out of his body in waves. "I love you more." He whispered, kissing the space of Seonghwa's body he could reach before closing his eyes. Soon the sound of the younger's soft snores could be heard, and Seonghwa smiled to himself, thanking God for giving him the most amazing mate in the world and a pup on the way.
He couldn't be any more happy than this moment now, as he leaned over to turn off the lamp, resting his head on top of his mate's before succumbing to sleep.
