Summary
Not long ago still a happy family of five, the twins Saewron and Orthorin lose their father and older brother Inean to the invasion of the Burning Legion. During their brother's funeral they learn strange things from the guests. Following these clues, they end up in the Telogrus Rift just as the Nether Prince Durzaan attacks. The twins, who have been transformed into void elves and are now members of the Alliance, must reinvent themselves, made all the more difficult by the death of their mother, the whispers of the Void and their estrangement from each other.
Meanwhile, at the funeral of the fallen Warchief Vol'jin, Levaindil has encountered a ghost from the past: a friend she thought dead after he left Quel'Thalas with the Sunfury returns, but changed by his choices in the past. Is there anything left of her former friend behind the horns and blindfold? Answering this question becomes even more pressing when it's revealed that the Illidari is loyal to Warchief Sylvanas, while Levaindil soon realizes that she feels the need to support the revolutionaries instead.
After the Fourth War, Inean, whom his brothers thought lost forever, is raised from the dead by the voice of the Lich King...
