When you live in Gotham, it's impossible to stay above the crime and corruption forever. You either become a villain or you become a target, and all Caroline Hames wants to do is stay out of it as long as she can. That is, until one night she finds herself if the thick of it and is saved by a charming butler and his billionaire boss.
Months later, once again in the wrong place at the wrong time, Caroline discovers that the masked vigilante, Batman, and the billionaire are one in the same. With a promise to keep his secret, and a job helping him continue to save Gotham, Caroline thinks she may just survive... until the Joker showed up.
It takes three weeks for Gotham City (and every spec of familiarity and comfort in Caroline's life) to crash and burn.
