Summary
About two hundred years before the events of BG3, Cazador Szarr found an elven bard named Vienne bleeding out in an alley and made her his spawn. A few blocks away, Astarion Ancunin, a rakish aristocrat and magistrate, also nearly bled to death that night after an assassination attempt by his own uncle. Astarion was saved by the head of a thieves guild who knew the profit margins of having an Ancunin indebted to him, but Astarion's sister Ariya was not so lucky.
For the next two centuries, Vienne lives through hell as Cazador’s spawn, and Astarion keeps up appearances in high society, though he is secretly working for The Guild to steal from fellow patriars.
