Work Text:
Benson and Troy were spending their afternoon together, buying presents for their families. Benson was aware that everyone else in his family had bought each other gifts. He'd been waiting longer than he wanted, uncertain of what to get. It was only a couple of days left until Christmas, and so, he and Troy had decided to go Christmas shopping together. Troy hadn't gotten anything for his father either.
After about two hours of searching through every store in Las Vistas, Troy had found some cookware for his father. They had always made meals together ever since he was a little boy, and he liked to keep that tradition going.
Benson, on the other hand, had one last gift to find. Dave's. He'd managed to find something for everyone in his family. Even Mandu. But no matter how long he searched, he just couldn't find something perfect for his best friend. It would be their first Christmas together in the Oak family. Before, they would exchange one gift, usually food, and go about their day. This Christmas would be a special one. Benson wanted to find something valuable to give his friend. He couldn't just give him anything. Dave had been there ever since he was seven years old, with his parents only recently dead. They had been inseperable for so many years. He had to give him something to prove that.
"Relax, you'll find the perfect gift soon. I bet it's just hiding", Troy reassured, kidding Benson's cheek softly.
Benson smiled, taking his boyfriend's offered hand as they turned to exit the store.
"We'll take another round tomorrow. We still have a few days left until Christmas. We've got lots of time!" Troy added.
They were about to step outside, when something caught Benson's eyes. By the exit, they were selling plastic fans. There was only one left. A blue one. Benson grabbed it and held it in his hands. A smile grew on his face.
It was perfect.
