Chapter Text
Todd couldn’t sleep
There was too much to think about and his mind just couldn’t see to shut off about that one thought.
He was changing schools.
Which meant a lot of things; new environments to get used to, new people, new teachers and a new roommate.
Todd didn’t really mind having a roommate. It was nice not having to be alone, but that didn’t mean his roommate had the same opinion. What if he hates me? Todd couldn’t get that stupid thought out of his mind. He was awfully nervous for tomorrow.
—
He was sitting in the car, on the way to Welton.
Todd was fidgeting his hands anxiously while looking out the window, trying to calm his mind.
It was quiet in the car. Not too awkward, just the silence he was used to from his parents.
Todd was getting tired again and was just about to fall asleep, when the car stopped. They were there. At the school. At Welton.
Todd’s anxiety raised inside of him as he, and his parents got out of the car. He took his bags and silently followed his parents up to his dorm room while keeping his gaze on the ground, in case someone would start talking to him.
—
They didn’t even bother helping Todd unpack. They just gave their quick goodbyes and made their way out of his dorm, emotionless. This wasn’t unusual behaviour from his parents, but it still hurt.
Todd sighed and started unpacking his stuff. He looked over his shoulder, over to his roommate’s part of the room. It was still empty,
So that could mean two things; maybe he didn’t have a roommate, or they were just not here yet. Todd hoped for the first option.
Just as Todd was thinking about that. The door opened. Todd looked up, his eyes meeting someone else’s big brown eyes. He quickly moved his gaze down to the ground, his heart raising. Todd wasn’t sure why he was feeling the way he was, he guessed that it was probably just his anxiety and nothing else.
