It was so weird.
He felt so strange.
He felt so... empty. Weird.
He thinks that usually in moments like this one should cry or mourn or something. But... he just felt like he had forgotten how to use emotions. He felt so conflicted. It was... he couldn't even name it.
He just wanted to lie down. And sleep or look out the window.
He wanted to cry. But he couldn't even bring out a one tear. It's normal? Shouldn't he feel like he could cry and cry and cry at this point? He also felt angry and bitter He wasn't sure at who. He felt angry. He felt resentful. And he couldn't direct these emotions.
He... doesn't even know what.
What should he feel at such a moment?
Maybe he thinks about it too much?
His legs hurt a little. How long has he been standing here? After all, there was no one to point it out to him.
Chosen placed his hand on the kitchen counter to support himself after feeling like he was about to fall to the floor and just sit there. Which was actually quite tempting. Just sit down and get lost in thoughts, or just look out the window. He felt a little too tired to do anything more productive.
After all, there was no one who would start admonishing him or complaining that he just randomly sit on the floor because he wanted to.
However, he came here for something he doesn't remember.
He frowned slightly.
Crash.
Chosen's eyes widened slightly in surprise at the sudden sound. He turned abruptly towards the noise and suddenly froze as he saw what was causing the sound of breaking glass.
Red spider– Red Virabot. Strangely small. Standing on the kitchen counter next to the open window, it looked down at the floor where the broken glass Chosen used as a vase lay.
What was it doing here? He was sure they were all destroyed. He saw them being destroyed.
He hated spiders. But especially these ones.
Virabot didn't seem to notice him as it let out a small squeak that sounded like a grunt. And looking at the broken glass, and the puddle of water that was getting bigger by the second. Two flowers that had long since dried up were lying on the ground and their petals were either broken or bent.
„How did you get here?” His voice was quiet and hoarse. Chosen thinks it's because he doesn't tend to use it. After all, he didn't need to. What was the point if the house was empty apart from him anyway?
Virabot suddenly seemed to pay attention to him, as it snapped its head up and seemed to look at him. Although Chosen couldn't be sure. After all, it had no eyes.
However, after a few seconds, the virus, as if losing interest in him, looked at the photo frame lying on the counter so that the photo was not visible. Chosen left it like that so he wouldn't have to look at it.
„Get out,” He croaked, but it also sounded a bit like he was growling.
Virabot looked at him again. However, its limb was stretched out to grab the frame and lift it to lie properly. The spider let out a few screeching squeaks as if responding as it reached up to pick up the picture frame again. Chosen suddenly walked up in three steps and forcefully hit the frame with his fist. Causing Virabot to jump back and leave the frame with the photo lying down on the counter. He was also sure that the glass of the photo frame had shattered under the force of the impact.
He didn't want to look at it. Neither at this disgusting creature nor at the photo. It made him think about things he didn't want to think about. Which still hurt too much. As if someone was squeezing his chest.
„What the hell are you looking for here?!” He growled, leaning towards Virabot. „Get out of here! There's nothing for you here.”
The virus just looked at him, and the two fangs moved as squawks echoed from it.
Chosen narrowed his eyes at the strange lack of aggression and attack from the virus. That was weird.
But it didn't matter. He didn't want it here. It irritated him. It made him think about memories he did not want to think about.
„Are you deaf?” Chosen growled, feeling his eyes heat up and their red glow fell on the counter and the virabot. „I said GET OUT!”
His shout didn't seem to have effect on the spider, which continued to try to reach for the picture frame. Chosen thinks that out of emotion or anger he threw the frame on the floor and it broke.
„You have nothing to look for here!” He shouted and swung his hand to catch the virus, which squawked as it was caught. At the same time, he felt how almost boiling his eyes were from the contained laser beam.
He then walked to the back door in the kitchen and opened it with almost a flourish.
„You have nothing to look for here! You have no one to look for here! Get out before I get rid of you!” He shouted, throwing the virus as far as he could, and the virabot landed almost with a thud on the grass.
Virabot rose from the ground and dusted itself off like a dog coming out of water. After a while, it looked towards him, or rather at his feet.
Chosen frowned. He moved a little, suddenly hearing the crunch of glass beneath his foot. A little surprised, he looked down and lifted his foot. And then, the photo frame that he had thrown earlier appeared to him. But this time the photo was visible, just behind the broken glass and between the broken wooden frame.
The only a photo of him and Dark that was in that house. Which was taken a few years ago by Dark.
He felt an arm suddenly being thrown around his shoulders and he was pulled into a side hug.
„Come on Gloomy! Smile!” Dark cackled with a wide, toothy smile.
Even if now a photo was creased, a little torn at the corners and a bit faded, he could still see all the details.
Suddenly a red spot appeared in his field of vision. Virabot was suddenly there again and reached for the photo as if it wanted to pick photo up.
Chosen couldn't see Virabot's eyes. However, he saw it move its head, looking from the Dark's photo to Chosen.
„He's gone.” He growled, jerking the photo up and leaning back against the counter. And if his voice wavered or stammered, he's not going to admit it.
The virus tilted its head, looking at him. Suddenly virabot seemed to lower its head, as if it was sad.
Chosen suddenly froze, feeling something crawling over him. Looking down, he saw the virabot climbing up his leg, then up his torso until it reached his shoulder and forearm, finally returning to the photo it clung to so tightly. Maybe he was making something up, or maybe the spider wanted to show him something when it tried to grab the photo with one of its claws to turn it. Or was he starting to go crazy?
Still, Chosen frowned, looking at the photo. After a moment, tightening his grip on it and turned over. Then he was surprised to realize that there was something behind him. Something he had never noticed before.
Was it here before?
He frowned looking at the text written in pencil.
If you're reading this, I'm probably dead.
Maybe it's stupid. But I expected such a scenario since I created the first Virabot prototype. Stupid, right?
Well, you're probably a little lonely right now. So I leave you my first Virabot prototype. Her name is Vee. She is harmless so you don't have to worry.
Take care of her for me.
Dark :)
Chosen slowly slid down onto the tiled floor. He bit his lip and placed the photo on the floor next to him.
After a while, he rested his head on his forearm so that the few tears soaked into his sleeve.
Vee moved. And purring, she snuggled into Chosen's chest.
