Quiet. Aloof. Collected through the life of pretense and consequences from what they molded him to be. A child soldier years and years in the making that was never meant to learn a conscience.
Hawks’ tells—the restless shift of his wings, the quiet still of his eyes that blink too much too fast, and the drawn tightness of a fight still evident in his fist.
He is Hawks, number two hero to the world. A symbol that should do no wrong.
And to Dabi?
Hawks is only human.

Summary
Out of all the things Hawks had expected to find while searching around inside Dabi’s mind this was by far the last.
The intent to burn him alive was expected and warranted. Hawks was digging around in the villain’s thoughts, feelings, and memories, plucking them straight from the source to examine with an increasing amount of flushed speed.
There had to be something else in here, right? More about the League, names, other hideouts he hadn’t found yet, places AFO could hide, other quirks, bigger plans, other raw needs, other desires, other messy details, other other other other—
A hard bite to the Hero’s pinky made him yelp, quickly throwing the opposite fist to smash Dabi’s nose, effectively knocking the villain’s head back, cheek squeaking loudly on polished floors.

Summary
There’s a little kid halfway inside of a torn-open, industrial-sized trash bag, barely lit beneath the only working lamp in the alleyway.
It has rubber band wrists, like someone takes care of it, or at least used to, until recently. It doesn’t make sense that it would be eating out of the trash in the middle of nowhere, blocks and blocks from the nearest residential street, if someone was still taking care of it.
Concern builds up in Dabi's throat like bile. Saliva pools under the sudden dryness of his tongue.

Dabi finds a baby with a Goat Quirk in a trashcan.
The Fire User takes the baby to the League's base and starts giving the baby a bath and healing his wounds.
Dabi desperately calls Hawks and pleads for the Bird to buy baby stuff.
Hawks shows up and the two finish giving the baby a bath together.
The baby screams and cries from the soap hurting, due to all the injuries on him.
