The price will be paid

Summary:

“We can’t.” Lewis hissed. “Daniel wants him alive.”

No. Lando thought. He wasn’t going back. With the courage he had left, he tried to cast one more spell. A spell of death. Not for Seb, or for Lewis, but for himself.

An unfamiliar voice spoke, stopping him.

“Well, what do we have here?” They said. Their tone was deep and rich, with a hint of an accent. Lando closed his eyes, unable to stop his trembling.

Or

In a world where magic has a price, and witches are caught and enslaved. Lando, a witch must pay the price like all other of his kind. In his case, and many others pain and blood is the only way. You can not escape it. The price will be paid.

Notes:

I saw a prompt on tiktok

What if magic wielder had to pay with a price each time they used magic. And I ran with it.

Lando’s price is pain, blood loss, injury

Chapter 1: Blood sucker

Chapter Text

Lando wiped the blood from his nose and kept running. The group of vampires chased after him, heavy on his heels. He sent a spell of destruction towards them, feeling his body twist in pain. Magic always came with a price. In Lando’s case, and many others, it was pain.

The spell hit the vampires, knocking two down. Only three remained. He sent another spell, a spell of death. He gasped in pain, coughing. Blood trailed down his chin. The spell hit one of the vampires, killing the wretched thing instantly.

He couldn’t go on for much longer.

He was weak from his spells. Even weaker from escaping Daniel.

The man had locked him up, used him as his pet for months. Lando would choose death before he’d go back there.

The men that were chasing him were part of Daniel’s coven, greedy henchman that wanted to be the one to catch the bosses toy.

Lando was no toy. He’d show them. His anger had been building for months, his magic was coiled tight, pounding against his body to be let out. He had saved it for this.

Daniel would pay. Maybe not now, but eventually. The filthy bloodsucker would fucking pay.

Lando legs gave out on him. He forced himself back up, running slower than before.

He sent spell after spell, but the men gained on him.

Lando knew he failed when his femur snapped from magic overuse. He screamed, collapsing. He had used all of his magic. He tried to draw from his body, but couldn’t. He needed to rest, heal, and his magic would return.

He was screwed.

The vampires caught up to him in seconds.

“Well well, little witch.” The one sneered. It was Daniel’s right hand man, Lewis. The man was one of the oldest vampires Lando had ever met. He wasn’t afraid to show Lando he was powerful. The witch had been subjected to many beatings by the vampire. “Finally ran out of magic, huh? Too bad you wouldn’t show Daniel.”

Lando never showed Daniel his magic. It didn’t matter how much the man beat him. He never broke.

“We are going to have some fun with you.” The other vampire, Seb sneered. Lando whimpered as Lewis pressed on his broken bone. Blood was gushing from his nose, ears, and eyes, another sign of magic overuse.

“You smell so good.” Seb growled, catching a tear of blood on his finger, then licking it. “You taste better than I thought. Maybe I’ll suck you dry.”

“Sir!” Lewis said, voice taking an edge. “We didn’t know this was your territory.”

Silence.

“You didn’t know?” The voice drawled. Closer to Lando than before. “Lie to me again and I’ll rip out your throats.”

Lando’s heart pounded. He whined as a hand touched his cheek. He opened his eyes, fatigue and blood loss trying to weigh him down. It was another vampire.

The man was studying him carefully, brown eyes assessing his every injury.

“Sorry sir…we need our quarry. We’ll be gone after we take it.” It was Seb that spoke, uncertainty in his voice.

It. Lando wasn’t even considered a person.

The man’s eyes didn’t leave his. He wiped his eye gently, trying and failing to clean his blood stained face. “Who wants him and why.”

The man demanded answers. He didn’t ask for them. Seb chuckled nervously. “Daniel, sir. It’s his pet.”

The man’s eyes darkened as he read the pain in Lando’s eyes. Then as quick as lighting he was gone. He heard a shout, then two thumps.

He shuddered, black shots filling his vision. He wasn’t going to last long.

The vampire knelt down next to him. Lando tried not to flinch as he gently touched his broken leg.

“I don’t want to die.” He whimpered. He didn’t, he really didn’t. He would run for his entire life, if it meant he was free from Daniel. He just wanted to live.

“Let me save you.” The man whispered. “You won’t like how, but it’s the only way.”

Lando closed his eyes, “Do what you must.”

“The moon looks beautiful tonight, doesn’t it?” Lando opened his eyes in confusion, looking at the moon. It was beautiful and full. Lando was at his most powerful today.

Then, he screamed. The man pushed on his bone tightly. As he screamed a hand as quick as lighting came down on his mouth. A metallic taste entered his mouth, as tears filled his eyes.

“Shh.” The man soothed. “You’re alright. Just drink.”

Lando didn’t know if the man compelled him, or he was delirious because he began to drink the blood from the strangers wrist.

The vampire pulled away, and Lando began to burn. He felt like he was on fire, heat curled through his stomach and legs. He whimpered, withering on the cold ground.

Then, his neck was being tilted up, baring the most vulnerable part of himself. He tried to move away, the grip was firm, but not harsh. Then lips were on his neck. The fire died down, Lando relaxed slightly. He felt pressure, before he could react the vampires fangs pierced his skin.

All the pain in his body vanished. Something entirely different curled in his stomach. The man pulled away, and sent him an assessing look.

Lando fainted.

-

Carlos, wiped the young witches face, cleaning off the blood. He had marked him.

He had done what was needed to save the witch, yet he knew the young magic wielder would not be happy.

Carlos had tied them together for as long as they were alive. It would take a steak in his heart, or the witches death to break what he had done.

He had claimed him in every way. His body roared with desire, yet he restrained himself. He would take it slow. The witch would be scared, and would not trust him.

He would take baby steps, ensuring the safety of his witch. No matter what.

He thumbed over the witches neck, where he had bit. The witch groaned, shifting as he brushed over the bloodied spot.

Carlos was fucked.
