“Garazeb!” Kallus called out as he entered the hallway of the Ghost's crew quarters. Lips pursing with frustration at the lack of response. “Zeb!” He added trying to ruffle the wet hair dry as he tapped the panel on Zeb’s door to open.
“Yeah yeah I heard ya.” Zeb at least was sitting upright in his alcove, his side burn fur pressed in the wrong direction, fur ruffled- he looked like he had battled with sleep all night long, likely had.
“You are going to be late” Kallus had no sympathy for the fellow warrior apparently, least was not showing it.
“Got time… just cause yer always there 10 minuets early every single time doesn’t bloody well mean I gotta.” Zeb was staggering about the room to adorn the rest of his armor, giving his fur a claw through as if that would straiten the sleep pressed pattern.
“How can you possibly not function with as much sleep as you get?” Kallus crossed his arms and judged Zeb.
“How can ya function with so little?” Zeb glowered back gaining a raised eyebrow and made a grand sweeping gesture for Kallus to lead the way to the scheduled meeting.
Rolling his eyes Kallus lead the way “You are not really sleeping, are you?” He accused his husband, a glance over his shoulder at the taller man.
“We gotta discuss this now?” Zeb stopped short on the ramp of the Ghost apparently just now realizing the state of the weather. Rain, pouring in heavy sheets over the Ghost, blurring the sight of the temple beyond the ship yard. Rebels were dashing back and forth away from the downpour. “Karabast, rain.” His ears drooped.
“Yes Garazeb, it is a *Rain* forest after all.” Kallus quipped starting to head into the rain, glancing back at his dead stopped husband. shielding his eyes from the rain “Zeb” It was a grumpy command for his husband to keep up.
Zeb scowled “But I’m gunna get wet!”
Kallus rolled his eyes once more “Yes that happens in the rain, now lets go!”
Zeb looks annoyed, but the tone and testiness of his lover was just going to escalate. It was best to prove WHY it was a bad idea to get a species with fur soaked all the way through. With a grumble Zeb started to follow, ears flattening at the rain, a shake of his head the moment the water splashed up into them.
Sated for the moment Kallus’s mood did start to improve, it did not last long. The scream from Zeb made Kallus Jump, wheeling to find Zeb up on one foot, the other up and his toes curled tightly, one arm trying to do a balancing act. “What in the bloody hell are you DOING?!” the tone was one you would use with an erring child.
Pointing at the ground with a frantic voice “WHAT ARE THOSE?!”
Kallus looked down, now irritated to no end, in the mud, hard to really see at first glance were writhing and squiggling grubs, everywhere. His slowly rising gaze to Zeb now was unabashed irritation “Bugs Zeb. Just. Bugs. The faster you get inside, the sooner you’ll get out of this.”
Looking up, soaked fur and hair looking nothing less than pathetic with big green pleading eyes “But they squish and crunch under your toes!”
“They’re not an issue, you are.”
“YOU HAVE SHOES!” Zeb wailed like the child Kallus was treating him as.
“And who’s fault is THAT?!” Kallus stormed forward just like the rain, grabbing Zeb about the waist, yanking the arm over his shoulders and with force half dragged and whimpering Zeb along over the mud for the closest patch of duracement. With the grubs doing their best to escape the saturated water still were on the cement, Zeb trying to dance about them with half yowls when his toes squashed yet another bug. He would jerk and jolt, half pulling Kallus along. By the time the two reached the meeting room, both were soaked to the bone, fur and hair stuck to the side of face and neck and not a single article of clothing was dry… including Kallus’s socks. Kallus still had Zeb at the hip, trying to move the complaining and yowling Lasat along trying to push the clock so they would make it in time- which they had not.
Every general in the room were silent, eyes on the two towering men.
“Umbrella’s do exist.” Sabine was doing her best not to break into a fit of laughter.
“I, I just dont think I want to know.” Hera put her have over her face.
Leia on the other hand started to crack into a smile and laugh “I think I do.”
Zeb’s bottom lip quivered as he looked to Hera as if pleading for forgiveness “There were bugs… and they would squish b’tween m’ toes.”
That broke both Sabine and Leia the two cracking up into heavy laughter, a few of the others in the room trying to hide a smile of amusement.
Kallus’s eye twitched “Garazeb…” and his eyes looked to his husband “You are going to pay.” he added with a wrinkled nose “AFTER…. You dry.”
